Crystals attrition in a crystallizer with the helicoidal agitator

The research results of crystals attrition in a crystallizer of working capacity 36 dm3, equipped with a helicoidal agitator are presented. Measurements were carried out for sodium chloride and ammonium sulphate (VI) crystals. The helicoidal agitator selected to force a circulation of suspension was found not to cause any excessive breakage of the solid phase. Attrition degrees of crystals were between 6 and 10.2%.
