Corporate social responsibility of heating companies in Poland in the context of sustainable development

In the coming years, the heating sector in Poland will undergo further changes as a result of the implementation of the country's energy policy within the European Union. Its main goals are: increasing energy efficiency, development of renewable energy sources and meeting legal and environmental requirements. Their implementation should take into account the observance of CSR principles in order to ensure a stable supply of heat to industrial and municipal consumers with high energy efficiency and limitation of the environmental impact. The article presents the conditions for the operation of the heating industry in Poland and CSR issues in heating companies. Particular attention was paid to the issue of energy poverty and its reduction. The application of social responsibility practices in heating industry on the basis of activities of selected enterprises in this sector was presented. The importance of social responsibility of heating companies in the implementation of a just energy transition in Poland was also indicated.

Polska zaliczana jest do najbardziej zanieczyszczonych krajów Unii Europejskiej pod względem ilości szkodliwych związków znajdujących się w powietrzu atmosferycznym. Jednocześnie według ostatniego raportu Światowej Organizacji Zdrowia (WHO) z 2018 r. w pierwszej dziesiątce najbardziej zanieczyszczonych miast znalazło się aż 7 leżących na terytorium Polski.

Systemy GIS są coraz częściej wykorzystywane w polskich przedsiębiorstwach ciepłowniczych do wspomagania zarządzania zasobami firmy. W artykule przedstawiono ogólną charakterystykę systemów geoinformatycznych oraz genezę ich powstania. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na zastosowanie tych systemów w branży ciepłowniczej. Zaprezentowano dwie aplikacje GIS przystosowane do specyfiki firm ciepłowniczych: EC.GIS i Mb_GIS. Opisano ich funkcjonalność w zakresie tworzenia kompleksowych baz danych systemu ciepłowniczego, ewidencji i możliwości wykonania zestawień statystycznych. Ponadto zwrócono uwagę na wprowadzone rozszerzenia funkcjonowania systemu GIS w zakresie symulacji pracy systemu ciepłowniczego. W tym celu wprowadzono odpowiednie moduły obliczeniowe oraz wprowadzono możliwość wymiany danych z specjalistycznymi programami obliczeniowymi

GIS systems are increasingly used in The Polish Heat Supply Companies to support the management of the company’s resources. The article presents the general characteristics of geoinformatic systems. The special attention was paid to the application of these systems in the Heat Supply industry. Two GIS applications adapted to the specificity of heating companies were presented e.i. EC.GIS and Mb GIS. Their functionality was described in terms of creating comprehensive databases of the District Heating Systems, records and possibilities of preparing statistical compilation. Moreover, the attention was drawn to the introduced extensions of the GIS system functioning in the scope of simulating the operation of the district heating system. For this purpose, appropriate calculation modules were introduced and the possibility of data exchange with calculation programs.
