Artykuł zawiera przegląd technik wykonania polimerowych materiałów gradientowych. Przedstawiono mikroskopowe badania struktury kompozytów oraz pokazano ich zalety i ograniczenia. W artykule omówiono zagadnienia przygotowania powierzchni próbek polimerowego materiału gradientowego do badań mikroskopowych. Następnie przedstawiono rezultaty badań struktury materiałów gradientowych o osnowie polimerowej napełnionej węglem kamiennym. Do wykonania kompozytów wykorzystano żywicę epoksydową, jako materiał osnowy oraz dwa rodzaje węgla kamiennego o różnej granulacji i własnościach. Kompozyty wytworzono stosując metodę odlewania grawitacyjnego i odśrodkowego.

In the introduction article provides an overview of manufacture techniques of graded polymer materials. Microscopic examination techniques of composites structure are presented and discussed are their advantages and limitations. The article discusses the issues of surface preparation of polymeric graded materials specimens for microscopic examination. Next the paper presents the results of a study of the structure of polymeric graded materials with hard coal filler. For the production of composites material were used epoxy resin as the matrix and the two types of hard coal with different grain size and properties. The composites were prepared using the gravitational and centrifugal casting methods.
