Stwierdzono korelację pomiędzy wzrostem biomasy i zmianą konduktancji la kultur korzeni wlośnikowatych P. tomentosa w kolbach wstrząsanych. Pomiar konduktancj i zastosowano do śledzenia wzrostu korzeni P. tomentosa w bioreaktorze rozpyłowym o pojemności 10 dm3. Korzystając z wyłączonych zależności liniowych w kolbach wstrząsanych, wyznaczono hipotetyczny wzrost biomasy w bioreaktorze. Końcowy wynik uzyskany z liniowej zależności był niższy od rzeczywistego o 6,8%. Stwierdzono, i konduktancja może być zastępczym parametrem monitorującym wzrost biomasy korzeni P. tomentosa w bioreaktorze rozpyłowym.

A correlation between the growth of biomass and a change in conductance for Paulownia tomentosa hairy roots in shaken flasks was confirmed. The measurements of conductance were used to monitor the growth of P. tomentosa hairy roots in a mist bioreactor of 10 dm3 volume. Using the linear dependencies determined for shaken flasks' cultures, the hypothetic growth of biomass in the bioreactor was determined. The final result obtained from the linear dependence was 6.8% lower than the real one. It was proved that conductance may be considered to be a substitute parameter for monitoring the growth of P. tomentosa hairy roots biomass in the mist bioreactor.

Inż. i Ap. Chem. 2005, 44, no 4s, p. 70 Cultures of hairy roots of Arnica montana were cultivated in a mist bioreactor for different medium: B5, 1B5, 1B5 - mod.l and 1B5 - mod.2. Fresh and dry biomass were estimated after 28 days. The content of polyphenols in biomass was measured. The best results, i.e. the highest content of polyphenols were obtained for 1B5.

Hairy roots cultures of Paulownia tomentosa produce verbascoside. The effect of elicitors on verbascoside production in hairy roots P.tomentosa was tested. The following elicitors: yeast extract, methyl jasmonate and salicylic acid were used. The best productivity was obtained in cultures with yeast extract (98,7 mg/g s.m.) and methyl jasmonate (96,4 mg/g s.m).

Transformed root cultures of Arnica montana were cultivated in shaking flasks of 300 cm3 containing 80 cm3 hormone-free B5 medium with 5% of sucrose. Fresh and dry biomass changes, uptake of main nutrients and conductivity were investigated during the process.
