A modified method of the thickness determination of nonwovens, based on PN-EN ISO 9073-2 standard, has been presented. Suitable measuring device with the laser range finder has been built. The appropriate pressure is applied to the measured nonwoven gravitationally by means of the pressure-plate. Device is equipped with a series of pressure-plates for normal or bulky nonwoven samples. There is also a RS232C interface installed in order to enable acquisition of test results and calculation of their statistical parameters.

In the series of articles [1,2,3] the possibilities of assessment of changes in the thickness of non-woven under the effect of cyclic dynamic loads have been presented. In this publication, an original measuring stand and the results of comparative tests for certified non-woven samples, indicating the presence of significant differences in the lateral deformation compared to traditional investigation methods, are presented.

W serii artykułów zamieszczonych w „Fibres & Textiles in Eastern Europe" rozważano możliwości oceny i pomiaru zmian grubości włóknin pod działaniem obciążeń dynamicznych, okresowo-zmiennych. Obecnie scharakteryzowano skrótowo stanowisko pomiarowe oraz omówiono badania przeprowadzone ze stosowanymi w konstrukcjach ziemnych geowłókninami. Przeprowadzono porównanie wyników uzyskanych tradycyjnymi metodami statycznymi i omawianą metodą dynamiczną.
