The gravimetric method is considered to be the only reliable method used to measure the moisture content of a certain material. The main purpose of this article is to determine the accuracy scale of the results drawn from the chemical method being applied to the most basic building materials and establishing regression patterns necessary to correct the results of the calcium carbide method.

This paper presents the results of the project aimed at the investigation of the role of the environmental effects in gravimetric Earth tides observations which was held at the Jozefoslaw Observatory. The Observatory belongs to the Warsaw University of Technology and is placed at the suburbs of Warsaw. The importance of maintaining fundamental stations with multi-parametr observations is beyond every doubt. At Jozefoslaw Observatory satellite (GPS and GLONASS) observations are run in parallel to absolute (using FG-5) and tidal (with LC&R ET-meter) gravity measurements. The knowledge of the local tidal gravity parameters is required for correction of the absolute gravity measurements and for the interpretation of local ground displacement as well. The correlation between lacal gravity changes and the environmental signal (local meteorological model, rainfalls, water table changes and soil moisture) was investigated. The project was supported by the grant of the Polish Ministry of Science and Computerisation No 4 T12E 003 27.

Content available remote Vertical gravity gradient as applied to the Bjerhammar`s problem solution
EN
The paper presents first considerations on applications of the observed gravity vertical gradient to the solution of Bjerhammar`s gravimetric problem. Author has practically tested three different approaches to the problem in the geodetic test field near Grybow (Cracow discrict). The test field is situated in sub-mountainous region of Carpathians. It consists of more than 50 stations with observed gravity gradient. Anomalies of this gravity characteristics reach there up to 1000 E. The application of directly measured vertical gravity gradient for determination of reduced gravity anomalies supports better convergence of solution than classical pure sophistic approach.

Content available remote Quasigeoids for the territory of the Czech Republic and their testing
EN
Development of the quasigeoids on the territory of the Czech Republic with succesive icorporating of new gravimetric observations on the territory of the CR and data gained from the territories of neighbouring countries. Estimations of accuracy of individual models. Testing the models by employment of GPS/levelling results on the profile with maximum change of quasigeoid elevation and by comparing with the GPS/levelling results at test areas.

Content available remote New tidal gravimetric laboratory in Jozefoslaw
EN
Since the middle of 2001 the Astro-Geodetic Obserwatory in Jozefoslaw has been equipped with new ET-26 LaCosteand Romberg gravimeter. This instrument is strictly dedicated to the Earth tides measurements. It has double lever system, double oven heating system and electrostating nulling which provide greater reliability and accuracy. This paper is aimed at describing the actions that had to be done before the recording started in the tidal laboratory in new building of the Jozefoslaw Observatory. These activities for instance were: electronic levels adjustment, instrumental phase lag determination as well as correctness of the voltmeter constant evaluation checking. The presentation contains the preliminary results of measurements at the tidal parameters (amplitude factors and phase shifts) derived from adjustment of first 5-months data. The concept of the synchronized tidal measurements made by two LC&R gravimeters (ET-26 and D-196) working in almost identical conditions in the same laboratory in Jozefoslaw is also presented.
