The study concerns the possibility of using the Neo4j database as a graph analysistool. The analysis was presented on the example of the railway connection network assessmentwhen designing a new version of the railway infrastructure in the Silesian Voivodeship. Theauthors present the concepts of a laboratory environment built on the basis of the Neo4jdatabase, and an application that allows obtaining data and modifying the railway infrastructuremodel. Thanks to this, it is possible to simulate many variants of the designed model and itsevaluation using the proposed measurement indicators. The study presents methods and tools ofanalysis that can be successfully used to assess the topology of a graph in many different researchareas, such as analysis of management systems, computer networks or biological systems.

Through the combination subject of scientific research, the design method of the winch driven by contactless magnetic coupling is researched for the core purpose of the turning shaft sealing in a deepwater environment. This method has six design phases, including domestic and foreign information query and retrieval, graphic analyses of relevant structures, innovative design of 2D assembly sketches, a theoretical computation of structure parameters, the 3D modeling and motion simulation and engineering drawing. This method is of generality, which can provide examples for the postgraduate students and engineering personnel in self-renovation design of scientific research.

Celem pracy jest omówienie różnych metod klasteryzacji (grupowania) w sieciach społecznych. Analizowane dane są wstępnie podzielone na klastry według miejsca zamieszkania członków sieci. Opracowany algorytm i bazująca na nim aplikacja dokonuje oceny jakości grupowania oraz umożliwia ponowny podział według różnych metod, a następnie porównanie wyników ich działania. Zaimplementowanych zostało wiele algorytmów, których działanie daje odmienne rezultaty. Aplikacja współpracuje z serwerem baz danych Microsoft SQL Server. Zastosowane zostały dwa typy użytkownika (UDT) w technologii CLR, które implementują obiekty odpowiadające składowym sieci-grafu [1]: osobę (SocNetPerson) i klaster (SocNetCluster).

The purpose of work is to discuss the various methods of clustering in social networks. Analyzed data are initially divided into clusters according to the place of residence of the members of the network. Developed algorithm and application based on it evaluates clustering quality and enables redistribution according to various methods, and then comparing the results of their actions. There were implemented many algorithms which gives different results. The application works with database created on Microsoft SQL Server platform. Two user defined data types have been applied in CLR technologies that implement the objects corresponding to the component network-graph: person (SocNetPerson) and the cluster (SocNetCluster).
