The work analyses the relations between architecture and kitsch which is a living aesthetical phenomenon that is usually discretely not commented on. Kitsch is mostly apparent in visual art and often in architecture. Although it stems from bourgeoisie culture it is nourished by all types of human activity. The article studies the essence of kitsch as well as its position in architecture and city planning and the role it fulfils.
