In the work energy of mechanical and diffusive transformations is analysed in terms of the gradient thermomechanics and calculus of variations. As a result of the considerations new forms of the partial diffusing mass and momentum balances of the thermomechanical process are derived in comparison with the classical theory.

In the work properties of the residual inequality of gradient thermomechanics are analysed.
