The right tool management is one of the ways to reduce production costs. in the context of the above, research was undertaken, the main purpose of which was to recognize the level of maturity of manufacturing enterprises in the area of effective implementation of the warehouse management subsystem. With reference to the objective outlined in this way, it was recommended as a necessary action; on the theoretical level - to apply the method of reconstruction and interpretation of the literature related to this subject - to nominate questions assessing the level of maturity of the warehouse management system; on a project level - to compile a research tool in the form of an evaluation sheet constituting the resultant literature exploration and discussion among intentionally selected professionals; on an empirical level - to conduct investigation (indication) among manufacturers of the agricultural machinery sector (method verification in practice).

Omówiono możliwość indywidualnej konfiguracji projektu Tool Management wraz z możliwościami jego najlepszego dopasowania do struktury organizacyjnej i wielkości przedsiębiorstwa. Omówiono przykłady wdrożonych projektów o zróżnicowanych profilach ich konfiguracji.

The paper describes the different variants of the tool management service executed by an external company. It demonstrates the ability of individually configuration of the tool management project as well as its optimization capabilities. The paper cited examples of existing projects and the results of their implementation.

The paper presents Time Lifecycle Management (TLM) as an enhancement of traditional approach to the tool management. The most important assumptions and main research areas of modern tool management are introduced. The author describes functional areas and expectations of TLM. The components and design principles of Industie 4.0 are presented. The main part shows TDM System, developed on the basis of TLM, and an example of its implementation in industrial practice.

Artykuł prezentuje koncepcję zarządzania cyklem życia narzędzia (Time Lifecycle Management, TLM) jako rozszerzenie tradycyjnej koncepcji zarządzania gospodarką narzędziową. Przedstawiono najważniejsze założenia oraz główne obszary problemowe współczesnej gospodarki narzędziowej. Zaprezentowano obszary funkcjonalne oraz oczekiwania wobec koncepcji TLM. Nawiązano do idei Industrie 4.0, omawiając jej komponenty oraz założenia projektowe implementacji. Zasadnicza część artykułu prezentuje program TDM System, opracowany w oparciu o koncepcję TLM oraz przykład jego wdrożenia w praktyce przemysłowej.
