Purpose: The subject of the publication is a philosophical reflection on the idea that organizes the space of human and citizen life, of which we are contemporary beneficiaries. This idea today inspires the search for the subjective status of man, shapes the axiological system of societies, defines the duties of the human person, sets legal standards. Methodology: The publication is theoretical in nature. The analysis of the literature on the subject constituted the method of working on the publication. This method made it possible to learn about the current state of knowledge in the subject under discussion, indicated the scope of consideration of the problem, and also determined the perspective of further issues and questions that require answers. Findings: The publication discusses the values on which the idea of human rights is based, the assumption being that a person who transcends the characteristics of the zoological species participates in the moral and rational sphere, the sphere of unconditional moral imperatives that cannot be empirically determined. Social consequences: The perspective adopted in the publication discussing the idea of human rights is, first of all, important criteria and categories for the construction of the normative order, it projects the formation of social ties and the evolution of values that consolidate society. The idea of human rights in this sense is a regulator of collective life that creates social order. Originality: The publication asks what are the sources of the idea of human rights, whether the rooting of man in intellectual loyalty to reason is a sufficient motive to safeguard against the desire to invalidate them, whether man as a moral being is immune to the action of the instincts of his own nature.

Purpose: The paper presents a fundamental issue for contemporary democracy concerning two basic concepts shaping civic awareness. Methodology: The main method is the analysis of the subject literature. Findings: The paper discusses the fundamental values that directly determine a person's status as an individual and a citizen in the state. Social implications: Reflections on the content of human rights and civil society are essential for the development of a model of citizen-state relations. Originality/value: The paper indicates the existence of a moral aspect in the relationship between the citizen and the state and its importance for building individual subjectivity and civic awareness.

Człowiek jest istotą społeczną, dlatego do prawdziwego człowieczeństwa potrzebuje drugiego człowieka, zachowania spokoju i bezpieczeństwa. W bezpieczeństwie społecznym ważne są przede wszystkim wartości, one bowiem tworząc hierarchię prowadzą do samorealizacji. Najważniejszymi, według mnie wartościami w tej hierarchii są wolność, równość i godność. To właśnie te aspekty są omówione w artykule.

A human is a social being, therefore, the true humanity needs others, maintain peace and security. In social security are important values, because they create a hierarchy, leading to self-realization. The most important values for me in this hierarchy are freedom, equality and dignity. It is these aspects I discuss in this article.

Respect for the dignity of the sick has been one of the healthcare workers’ fundamental work aspects, as the representatives of the so-called helping professions. It has been one of the priority and the most important attributes of humanization in medicine and healthcare since it increases care for the sick at the higher quality level, eliminates pain, maladaptation symptoms in patients and makes their lives more meaningful. It has been one of the priority and the most important attributes of humanization in medicine and healthcare since it increases care for the sick at the higher quality level, eliminates pain, maladaptation symptoms in patients and makes their lives more meaningful. Dignified approach to the sick not only serves as an indicator of health care quality, but it also measures the ability of healthcare professionals to empathize with patient´s troubles and their efforts to solve these problems. Respect for the dignity of patients acquires a specific significance in patients handicapped in any way, in those after radical therapeutic interventions (in particular, surgery ones), transplanted or the mentally ill and dying patients. The author presents the ways and means of respecting the dignity of patients by health workers, especially by physicians and nurses. At the same time, the author appeals to the recipients of healthcare to respect the right of health workers to dignity.

Poszanowanie godności chorych należy do podstawowych aspektów pracy pracowników opieki zdrowotnej, jako przedstawicieli tzw. profesji wspomagających. Stanowi jeden z priorytetowych i najważniejszych atrybutów humanizacji medycyny oraz uczłowiecznionej opieki zdrowotnej, ponieważ pozwala na przesunięcie poziomu opieki nad chorymi na wyższy jakościowo poziom, eliminuje cierpienie, objawy maladaptacji chorych i daje ich życiu większy sens. Godne podejście do chorych służy również jako wymowny wskaźnik jakości opieki zdrowotnej oraz zdolności pracowników opieki zdrowotnej do wczucia się w problemy pacjenta i ich starań do rozwiązywania tychże problemów. Poszanowanie godności chorych ma wyjątkowe znaczenie w przypadku pacjentów z jakąkolwiek formą upośledzenia, po radykalnych zabiegach terapeutycznych (zwłaszcza operacyjnych), po transplantacjach, chorych umysłowo, lub konających. Autorka przedstawia również możliwości i sposoby poszanowania godności chorych ze strony pracowników opieki zdrowotnej, przede wszystkim lekarzy i pielęgniarek. Równocześnie podkreśla prawo pracowników służby zdrowia do respektowania ich godności ze strony odbiorców opieki zdrowotnej.

This paper is an attempt to show the impact on staff material and financial motivation system. The work provides brief descriptions of various definitions of motivation and effects which a given type of motivation may have on individuals and, consequently, on the organisation. I have also refered to motivating employees through a system of rewards and punishments, and explain their attitudes perpetuate in the workforce. One of the negative effects of financial motivation is laying the foundation to anomy and lack of identification of employees’ aims with company aims. To counter the anomie presented the concept of Management by values, whose main objective it is essential not to treat employees instrumentally and to enable them to take active part in creating systems of values and culture of the organisation. As a result of Management by values, ethos of the staff is observable. It contributes to better identification with the company, willingness to work and increases the profitability of the company.

The article considers issues connected with Professor Mordecai Roshwald’s philosophical and anthropological thought. It presents important elements of the philosophy of care, focusing on its fundamental concepts such as: appeal, dignity, being-with-you, and being-with-we. It is postulated that these elements may be employed to serve the idea of sustainable development. This has been done on the example of the so-called participation: a. social participation, b. mechanisms for citizen participation.

W proponowanym artykule podjęto zagadnienie związane z problematyką filozoficzno-antropologiczną profesora Mordeciaia Roshwalda. Przedstawiono nośne elementy filozofii troski wskazując na jej podstawowe zagadnienia jak: apel, godność, bycie-z-ty, czy bycie-z-my. Jednocześnie postuluje się, że omówione elementy mogą w swej strukturze posłużyć idei zrównoważonego rozwoju, dokonano tego na przykładzie tzw. partycypacji: a. partycypacji społecznej, b. mechanizmów partycypacji obywatelskiej.
