Wady geometrii kręgosłupa w dniu dzisiejszym stanowią duży problem wśród społeczeństwa. Szybka i dokładna diagnoza może pomóc podjęcie odpowiednich środków zapobiegawczych. Jest to szczególnie ważne u młodych pacjentów. Wychodząc naprzeciw tym potrzebom została podjęta próba stworzenia systemu, który umożliwiałby stosowne badania. Został on oparty na systemie Polaris i aplikacji SpineTester.

Faulty posture is a constantly increasing problem these a days. A quick and proper diagnosis can be a clue to complete recovery. Ones effort to make a device which could make these kind of examination easier to make. Many kinds of those devices are already in use, but non of them is perfect. The suggested system SpineTester is trying to deal with there basic problems. The system is a fusion of device Polaris made by NDI, active markers (pointers) made by Aesculap, and an application which is made to gather characteristic points of posture and calculate parameters for them. Tracking of the pointer is made by Polaris which is provided and two IR cameras. The cameras identify the IR leds no the marker, and send to coordinates thought RS-232 to PC where they are calculated to parameters and shown in 3D. Points taken to the examination are no only from the spine, be also from shoulders, scapulas and pelvis. That set is base to get the parameters that are useful to diagnose.
