In 16th and 17th century, the need for speed in complex calculation spurred the invention of a powerful mathematical tool known as LOGARITHM. The reduction of multiplication and division to addition and subtraction (likewise the reduction of a complex mathematical structure to more simple ones) is in the spirit of „prosthaphaeretic rules” of ancient Greeks. We discuss some mathematical ideas related to logarithms and present some historical notes.

Numeryczny zapis kształtu samolotu, samochodu w systemie CAD/CAM jest podstawą do zaprojektowania I wykonania przestrzennych narzędzi jak foremniki na obrabiarkach sterowanych numerycznie. Nowa technologia informatyczna zmieniła zarówno sposób projektowania przez konstruktorów jak i wykonanie takich wyrobów jak samolot czy samochód.

It is very important in aviation to define outside geometrical constructional features of the plane (called the plane geometry) and also to reproduce the aircraft geometry, which is a mathematical process. As a result of this process the projected plane shape (defined by the drawing mathematical algorithm, pattern) is repeated in finished product with assumed tolerance.
