Despite having been amended several dozen times, the Geological and Mining Act of 9 June 2011 does not provide solutions conducive to investment in the field of geology and mining. This applies in particular to the scope of the Act, definitions appearing in it, the manner of establishing mining usufruct, licensing (including the case of competitive applications), as well as certain issues related to mining plant operations. Also the environmental impact assessment system pose a significant barrier for entrepreneurs. Most of these solutions require radical changes, in practice aimed at enacting a completely new law. However, there is no information regarding ongoing works to achieve this goal.
