Przytoczone w artykule zalety układów gazowych oraz gazowo-parowych potwierdzają, że opisywane układy stanowią konkurencyjne rozwiązanie dla technologii jądrowych, o których coraz częściej wspomina się jako o zabezpieczeniu krajowego systemu elektroenergetycznego przy założeniu określonej ceny paliwa. Biorąc pod uwagę unijne wymagania w zakresie wzrostu produkcji energii elektrycznej z niestabilnych źródeł odnawialnych, jakimi są m.in. farmy wiatrowe oraz czas inwestycji w bloki jądrowe w Polsce, konieczne będą inwestycje w źródła energii, które zabezpieczą płynność zaopatrzenia w energię.

Given are advantages of gas turbine and combined-cycle systems. Described systems go to make competitive solutions for nuclear technologies that are more and more frequently mentioned as a protection for national power system, assuming a defined fuel price. Taking into account the UE requirements concerning the rise in electric energy production from such unreliable renewable energy sources like, among the others, wind farms, as well as the time needed for investing in nuclear blocks in Poland, we come to the conviction that investments in energy sources, that can secure stable electric power supply, will be necessary.

It is commonly accepted that inside the whole European Union within the next 15 years signiflcant investments are expected in both the electricity production as well as in energy transfers. Such investments will need the precise decision-making processes, supported with very versatile engineering tools. The major objective of this paper is to propose an application of a new methodology to design of power systems in a fuIly automatic way. The proposed methodology utilises the current artificial intelligence tools like genetic algorithm, artificial neural networks, expert systems, fuzzy logic toolbox, etc.
