In recent decades, maritime transport, hand in hand with the International Maritime Organization (OMI), has promoted a change in the energetic model in ships and harbors. The main goal of this paper is to show the most useful advances in technologies with respect to reducing gas and particle emissions, and the implementation of technologies based on renewable energies for the propulsion of ships and the energy supply in harbors. Furthermore, new hybrid renewable energy-desalination water technologies which could change the shape of water supply to the ships from near shore zones will be shown. To carry out this study, exhaustive bibliographic research was conducted, including scientific and technical papers.

Spodziewany rozwój motoryzacji będzie przebiegał w kierunku coraz powszechniejszego wykorzystywania napędów elektrycznych. Przemysł samochodowy i elektrotechniczny oraz sektory transportu i energetyki zaczną ze sobą współdziałać oraz wzajemnie przenikać. Będzie to między innymi efektem ewolucji elektroenergetyki w stronę sieci inteligentnych (Smart Grid). Celem artykułu jest przybliżenie tematyki dotyczącej pojazdów elektrycznych i ich roli w kształtowaniu przyszłych struktur energetycznych, gdyż problematyka z tym związana w krajowej literaturze wydaje się być niewystarczająco rozpowszechniana. W pierwszej części artykułu opisane zostały zagadnienia podstawowe związane z budową pojazdów elektrycznych, natomiast w drugiej części skupiono się na zagadnieniu ich ładowania.

An expected development of the automotive industry will be directed towards a more and more frequent use of electric drives. Automotive and electrical industries as well as transport and energy sectors will cooperate and their ideas will permeate one another. One of the major factors boosting the consolidation of the above industries is the evolution of electric power towards Smart Grid solutions. The aim of this article is to introduce the topic on electric vehicles and their role in the future energy structures, the issue which in Poland seems to have been given little attention to so far, but which for sure should be brought to a larger group of potential recipients. In the first part of the article one describes basic issues including construction of electric vehicles, whereas the second part focuses on the matters of electric vehicles charging.
