Celem artykułu jest określenie kierunków kształtowania współczesnych funkcji terenów nadrzecznych, w kontekście zrównoważonego rozwoju, dla przykładu Wyspy Młyńskiej w Bydgoszczy. Przyjęta w artykule metodologia badań ma charakter analityczno-poznawczy. W pierwszej kolejności analizie poddano zagadnienia odnoszące się do współczesnych funkcji terenów nadrzecznych w mieście oraz aspektów kształtowania środowiska zbudowanego. Następnie przeanalizowano strukturę funkcjonalno-przestrzenną wyspy w ujęciu o współczesne funkcje obszaru nadrzecznego i kryteria zrównoważonego rozwoju w architekturze. Otrzymane wyniki oraz wnioski końcowe prowadzą do wspomagania procesów projektowych umożliwiających kreowanie zrównoważonych przestrzeni nadrzecznych w mieście.

The aim of the article is to define the directions of shaping the contemporary functions of riverside areas in the context of sustainable development for example the Młyńska Island in Bydgoszcz. The research methodology adopted in the article is of an analytical and cognitive character. First of all, the issues related to the contemporary functions of riverside areas in the city and the aspects of shaping the built environment were analyzed. Subsequently, the functional and spatial structure of the island was analyzed in terms of the contemporary functions of the riverside area and the criteria of sustainable development in architecture. The obtained results and final conclusions lead to the support of design processes that enable the creation of sustainable riverside spaces in the city.

The article presents the results of research on contemporary trends in the design of paediatric hospitals. The aim of the research was to determine directions both in the sphere of architectural, functionality and spatial solutions, as well as the arrangement of the areas of nursing and public areas, recognized as distinguishing features in relation to specialized hospitals of other profiles.

Artykuł przedstawia wyniki badań dotyczących współczesnych tendencji w zakresie projektowania szpitali pediatrycznych. Celem badań było określenie kierunków zarówno w sferze rozwiązań architektonicznych, funkcjonalno-przestrzennych, jak i aranżacji stref obszarów pielęgnacyjnych oraz ogólnodostępnych uznanych za wyróżniki w stosunku do szpitali specjalistycznych o innych profilach.

Współczesna architektura przedszkolna powinna odpowiadać na aktualne i przyszłościowe potrzeby wszystkich użytkowników, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem potrzeb głównego użytkownika – dziecka. Rozwiązania formalne, estetyczne oraz funkcjonalno-przestrzenne przedszkola-obiektu powinny być realizowane z uwzględnieniem głównego celu przedszkola-instytucji, jakim jest wychowanie przedszkolne w kontekście współczesnych oczekiwań i standardów, wspomagając rozwój sfery fizycznej, emocjonalnej, społecznej i poznawczej. Badania ogólne zostały przeprowadzone na wyselekcjonowanej próbie z Polski oraz innych krajów z Europy i spoza Europy. Wyniki badań pozwoliły na wyciągnięcie wniosków ogólnych będących podsumowaniem wniosków szczegółowych.

Contemporary architecture referring to buildings that house pre-schools should respond to the current and the future needs of all its users, especially to the needs of the main user, that is the child. The formal, aesthetic and functional-spatial solutions applied while designing a pre-school as a facility should be implemented in line with the main goal of the pre-school as an institution. This goal refers to pre-school education, in the context of contemporary expectations and standards, which in its turn supports the development of the physical, emotional, social and cognitive sphere of the child. General research has been conducted on a selected sample of such facilities from Poland, as well as from other European and non-European countries. The research results made it possible to draw general conclusions that provide a summary to specific conclusions.

Every adult person has experienced being a child. Being a child not only the issue of the age but also culture. On one hand, being a child is an individual experience and, on the other, being a part of a particular cultural community. Each phase of life creates a separate reality with specific developmental tasks, characteristic experiences, benefits and problems. The aim of this paper is to draw attention to the alternative solutions of pre-school architecture standards, forming a foothold towards optimization of the functional and spatial and formal solutions. The subject seems to be explored, but with continuous social change, new technologies and new research results in other disciplines, ongoing research is needed, both in terms of state and development trends, ad hoc needs analysis, and future needs.
