In the present study, the fiber-bending around the needle during the piercing process of the carbon fabric is investigated. In this regard, a mathematical model is established to investigate the bending elongation of the carbon fiber around the needle and the interaction between the carbon fiber and the needle tip. Then the mechanical behavior of the carbon fabric when moving down the tip of the steel needle is analyzed. Based on the performed analysis, a shape curve equation that satisfies the puncture needle tip is established. Furthermore, the influence of different needle tip shapes on the mechanical behavior of the carbon fiber is analyzed. The performance of the needle tip is subjected to different loads, including the puncture template, horizontal tension of the fiber to the needle tip, frictional resistance between the fiber and the needle tip, sliding force, and the bending moment. The performed analysis shows that when the shape of the needle tip assumes the form of curve 10, the downward force, horizontal tension, friction resistance, sliding force, and bending moment are minimized. Accordingly, curve 10 is proposed as the optimal shape for the needle tip. The present study is expected to provide theoretical guidance for selecting overall puncture process parameters.

Traveling in remote areas at nights is very risky and tire getting puncture at that time is dangerous. To avoid any of this complications a sub wheel system is installed in the vehicle. Sub wheels helps to go to required destination and change the puncture wheel. The tires used in this system are mold tires so they don’t get affected by the road conditions. The sub wheel is operated by means of a hydraulic system. Power for this sub wheel is provided from the engine placed in the back of the vehicle. This is system is very useful heavy weight vehicle which travel in difficult terrain (army vehicles).The height of the car is increased so that Sub wheels won’t affect the chassis or the engine. This type of system is used in le24race but they only use hydraulic system to lift the car. The advantage of this system is its user friendly and effective to use. By pressing a button required sub wheel comes down and start to function. By using CATIA a diagram of this system is drawn to check it’s various forces acting on it.

The results of tests presented herein can have practical applications for the adjustment of rotary speed to ensure constant contact between the measuring sensor’s spindle tip and the crankshaft journal of a piston energy converter, whose roundness profile is being measured. Analytical considerations have been supported by the results of simulations as well as experimental tests. The research has also shown that an increase in rotary speed affects the obtained profile shape and the value of determined roundness deviation.

Zaprezentowano wyniki badań, których praktyczne zastosowanie umożliwia dobór prędkości obrotowej gwarantującej stały styk końcówki trzpienia czujnika pomiarowego z powierzchnią walcową mierzonego przedmiotu. Rozważania analityczne poparto wynikami badań symulacyjnych i doświadczalnych. Badania wykazały, że zwiększenie prędkości obrotowej wpływa w sposób istotny na kształt rejestrowanego zarysu i wartość wyznaczanej odchyłki okrągłości.

Content available Study of a MEMS hybrid thermo-PZT micro actuator

The current study presents an analytical model for a MEMS cantilever based hybrid thermo- -piezoelectric micro actuator. The micro actuator structure consists of a unimorph type bending piezoelectric beam and a passive layer which uses the thermal bimorph principle. Primarily, under electrical and thermal loadings, the governing equations of motion are derived. After verification of the results, the deflection analysis of the micro actuator is performed. Moreover, the equivalent force at the actuator tip is obtained. To provide efficient optimization, the effects of the micro actuator geometrical and materials properties on the actuator tip deflection and force are investigated.
