The paper shows a study of modernization of municipal heating plant to heat and power generating plant combined heat and power) integrated with biomass gasification. Two variants of modernization are considered in the paper. The first case bases on the gas turbine integrated with thermal biomass gasification unit (gasifier) and the heat exchanger located behind the gas turbine. In the second case the gas turbine integrated with thermal biomass gasification unit (as in the first case) but together with the steam cycle (steam turbine) powered by steam produced in the heat recovery steam generator (HRSG). The biomass gasification is realized in the fluidized gasifier with circulative bed. The thermodynamic analysis was performed using Cycle-Tempo software. The essential results of thermodynamic analysis are discussed.
