The interaction of internal and surface waves in a two-layer fluid with free surface has been considered. The stability of wave packets propagation on the contact surface and free surface of hydrodynamic system „layer with rigid bottom - layer with free surface” was investigated. The amplitudes of the second harmonics of the elevations of the contact surface and the free surface are investigated.

Referat dotyczy nowej, oryginalnej konstrukcji suszarek cukru o wydajności do 750 ton cukru na dobę, zastosowanych ostatnio w kilkunastu polskich cukrowniach (zgłoszenie patentowe nr P-312773 z dnia 13.02.1996 r.). Omówiono budowę suszarek cukru z mieszadłem w warstwie fluidalnej ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem problemów, które stanęły przed projektantami głównych węzłów konstrukcyjnych tych urządzeń.

A novel, original design of sugar dryers of capacity up to 750 tonnes of sugar per day, implemented recently in some Polish sugar factories (patent claim no. P-312773 of 13 February 1995) is discussed in the paper. A construction of sugar dryers with mixers in the fluid layer is presented with special reference given to problems encountered during the design process of the main construction parts of the equipment.
