The central problem of the paper is grouping details in the conditions of FMS (flexible manufacturing system). The criteria for forming rational detail groups were identified and. The statistical analysis of details characteristics was based on the database of products for the electronic industry. The paper proposes a mathematical method of grouping using accumulated data on the processing objects, which employs the group-ing criteria. By employing such an approach we are presented with details grouped according to normative indicators of FMS equipment loading or minimum loss on their readjustment within the group of technological adjusting for every robotic technological complex (RTC).

This study identifies and analyzes the key factors of an efficient customer oriented production strategy. The paper supports the view that dynamic capabilities can be used successfully for improving company’s efficiency. This research is a case study research related to production strategy. In a case company, totally 31 interviews were made from 16 subsidiaries and 13 from end customers. The present paper focuses more on end customers’ than internal customers. Key findings can be identified as follows: effective information flow, flexibility, speed and responsiveness need more focus in the study of dynamic capabilities. Delivery accuracy is the key, while short delivery time is a competitive factor. This research is focused to power electronics business segment which is research limitation. To make wider conclusions, more empirical studies are needed. As a Practical implications, this research helps firms to improve their strategy process by understanding real customer needs. The research results bring additional value to the previous studies regarding company strategy, business environment, innovativeness and operational excellence.

The term flexibility is related to the technological development of a product, and a frequent shift production rate. However, an investment in flexibility is a serious financial burden for many companies. This is why the manufacturer system providers seek for a new designing system solutions of required flexibility at moderate cost. There is an idea of constructing a flexible system suitable for current manufacturing cycle, and adjustable for the future product development. An increased interest among new enterprises confirms the significance of this concept for flexible automation.

The article presents modular mechatronic technological line structure for short-serial prototypes production of a new generation of electronic identificators containing RFID chips. A line is intended for an assembly of a multilayer document in a cold gluing, hot-melt methods, or a glue transfer film method. The glue transfer film method consists of a base layer, an RFID inlet, and a cover layer. The developed system leads to flexible production automation, which is applied in a form of effectors controlled numerically by a wide range of operation parameters and an easiness of re-calibration. This article presents a variable structure of the production system, which depends on the applied gluing montage technology. Such developed solution allows for the RFID prototype production with variable gluing method, with applied materials, and with geometry of the final product.

Omówiono znaczenie informacji sterowniczych dla potrzeb diagnostyki i nadzorowania elastycznych systemów wytwórczych. Dokonano funkcjonalnego podziału diagnostyki tych systemów i wskazano na możliwości pozyskiwania informacji, przydatnych dla wnioskowania diagnostycznego, przez sieć informatyczną, łączącą lokalne sterowniki PLC z nadrzędnym układem sterowania. Scharakteryzowano pośrednie i bezpośrednie monitorowanie prognostyczne stanu składników systemu oraz możliwości zdalnej diagnostyki serwisowej.

Controlled information significance for diagnostics and supervising needs for flexible manufacturing are discussed. Diagnostics functional division of these systems has been done and possibilities of the information's gain are shown for diagnostics reasoning through the information network local controllers PIC with DNC. Direct and indirect prognostic monitoring of the system components and possibility of remote service diagnostics is characterized.

Współczesne urządzenia formierskie realizują dwustopniowe zagęszczanie, syntetycznej masy z bentonitem. Są sterowane automatycznie i współpracują ze zmechanizowanymi systemami transportowymi. W referacie omówiono krajowe urządzenia formierskie. Scharakteryzowano je w oparciu o kryteria klasyfikacyjne, dotyczące rozwiązań i współdziałania podstawowych zespołów urządzeń formierskich. Analizę pracy urządzeń do formowania w skrzynkach przeprowadzono razem z oceną możliwości przeprowadzenia zmiany oprzyrządowania modelowego. Możliwość i łatwość wymiany oprzyrządowania modelowego wymagana jest od elastycznych środków wytwarzania.

Modern moulding machines used in green sand moulding usually are based on two-step sand compaction. The pre-compaction is often performed by air stream flow (by means of Seiatsu process, impulse or blowing methods). The final compaction is reached mostly by squeezing. Described above devices are operating as usual in automatic mode and co-operating with fully mechanised handling equipment. In the paper the moulding devices analysis based on certain classifying criterions has been presented. Such criterions are connected with the principle of device operation and co-operation of the basic sub-assembly of the device and auxiliary equipment. The characteristic of moulding devices offered by home supplier has been given. Analysis of operating of flask moulding machines is carried out together with evaluation of possibilities of pattern exchanging system. The pattern exchanging devices is characterised for flexible production systems.
