Crowing business globalization makes it apparent that there is a need for developing and implementing international logistics initiatives. In other words different countries, regions and even continents may become closer in a wake of a global logistics management. Nonetheless observations have been showing that inspite of the firms' engagement the level in foreign markets logistics is rather a barrier but not a stimulator of the internationalization process. Based on such perception the research team developed following the key hypothesis: Most of manufacturing, trade and service companies characterized by different levels of internationalization archive scarcely interior integration of logistics processes. To verify such hypothesis empirical research will be conducted. On the basis of interviews with managers research team members will prepare case studies. Subsequently collected information will be generalized by means of specially constructed, two-dimensional matrixes, which structures will consist of: 1. Level of internationalization process described by Uppsala Internationalization Model, according to which there are four stages of the above process: no regular export activities, export via independent representatives, establishment of a foreign sales subsidiary and foreign production units. 2. Implemented internationalization strategy: endogenic, rnultilocal, multinational, global, transnational. 3. Level of the supply chain integration described by Porier's Model: purchasing and logistics, interior excellence, network constructing, sector leadership. 4. Level of company's development in the application of IT for supply chain management based on Manugistics Supply Chain Compass Model: the fundamentals, cross-functional teams, integrated enterprise, extended supply chain, supply chain communities. Combining particular Internationa! dimensions with logistics ones four different matrixes will be created, at which surveyed companies will be positioned.
