The concepts of war and peace have always been present in the treaties regarding general social issues. They were the subject for deliberations over the course of human history and the types of societies, cultures and civilizations having been formed historically. The content and character of opinions would change throughout ages. In Poland and other European countries, development of security concept in philosophical and social-political ideas was closely related to the economic, political, cultural and military state situation. The article also characterizes Polish security concepts present in the period from the 13th century until the Enlightenment.
