W artykule przedstawiono ogólną charakterystykę działalności naukowo-badawczej i dydaktycznej Wydziału Górnictwa i Geoinżynierii. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na ofertę kształcenia, współpracę z innymi jednostkami, działalność kół naukowych oraz organizowane przez Wydział konferencje naukowe. W drugiej części artykułu opisano charakterystykę działalności naukowo-badawczej i dydaktycznej Katedry Ekonomiki i Zarządzania w Przemyśle. Przytoczono najistotniejsze informacje i dane ilustrujące potencjał dydaktyczny Katedry, liczbę studentów rozpoczynających oraz kończących naukę na kierunku Zarządzanie i Inżynieria Produkcji. Przeanalizowano również losy zawodowe absolwentów II stopnia omawianego kierunku. Opisano zasadnicze kierunki badań realizowane przez pracowników Katedry w ramach funkcjonującej struktury organizacyjnej.

The article presents a general description of the scientific-research and didactic activity of the Faculty of Mining and Geoengineering. Particular attention was paid to the education offer, cooperation with other units, the activity of scientific groups and scientific conferences organized by the Faculty. The second part of the article describes the characteristics of the scientific-research and didactic activity of the Department of Economics and Management in Industry. The most important information and data illustrating the didactic potential of the Chair, the number of students starting and finishing education in the field of Management and Production Engineering were quoted. The professional life of graduates of the second level of the discussed subject was also analyzed. The main directions of research carried out by the employees of the Department as part of the organizational structure were described.

For development of the knowledge-based economy, potential and quality of university education are an important factors to increase a competitiveness of local, regional, national and international scales. To shape the modern economy, the development of university education and studies corresponding with contemporary socio-economic challenges play an important role. As a result, the formation of scientific and academic centres, which are the basic elements of knowledge-based of economy, determines the improvement of the human resources quality and the increase in innovativeness of spatial systems on various scales. The author has discussed the issue of changes in university education in Poland and its role in socio-economic activation of regional systems, and also defined the structure of major studies in regional (voivodship) systems. This paper research has initiated wider investigations which aim will be to answer to what extent the actual university education structure corresponds to contemporary and future socio-economic needs and competences. this level of education in Poland has to face with the growing globalization processes and increasing spatial competitiveness, not only in a regional scale, but also in the national and international ones, and actual reforms of Polish education and science system.

Politechnika Krakowska, która w roku 2015 obchodzi 70-lecie swego istnienia, w początkowym swym okresie nie prowadziła kształcenia studentów na kierunku – elektrotechnika, ale już wówczas od roku 1945 była tam Katedra Elektrotechniki Ogólnej. W wyniku zmian organizacyjnych w roku akademickim 1975/76 na Politechnice Krakowskiej został utworzony Wydział Transportu, na którym rozpoczęto kształcenie studentów na kierunku – elektrotechnika (specjalność: trakcja elektryczna). W wyniku dalszych przekształceń w roku 1991 powstał Wydział Inżynierii Elektrycznej, który od roku 1997 nosi nazwę Wydziału Inżynierii Elektrycznej i Komputerowej. Aktualnie Wydział ten kształci studentów na 3 kierunkach: elektrotechnika, energetyka oraz informatyka.

Cracow University of Technology, which in 2015 celebrates 70 years of its existence, in the beginning it did not carry out the education of students majoring - electrical engineering, but then from 1945 there was a Department of Electrical Engineering General. As a result of organizational changes in the academic year 1975-1976 at the Cracow University of Technology was created Department of Transportation, which began training students in the field - electrical engineering (specializing in electric traction). As a result of further transformations in 1991 was created Department of Electrical Engineering, which since 1997 is known as the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The Department currently educates students in 3 areas: electrical engineering, power engineering and computer science. In 1999, the Department obtained the right to grant the degree of doctor of technical sciences in the field of electrical engineering. Since 1975, at the Cracow University of Technology is also active Wheels Association of Polish Electrical Engineers.

Obowiązujące od roku akademickiego 2012/2013 Krajowe Ramy Kwalifikacji wpłynęły na konieczność przebudowania przez uczelnie wyższe swoich programów' kształcenia na poszczególnych kierunkach. Możliwość tworzenia profili praktycznych daje szansę na lepsze dostosowanie oferty edukacyjnej do lokalnego rynku pracy. Zdaniem autorki artykułu sprostanie nowym oczekiwaniom ze strony pracodawców, a także samych studentów kierunku logistyka wymaga zjednej strony konsekwencji w realizacji strategicznych, długookresowych celów uczelni, a z drugiej elastyczności w taktycznych i operacyjnych działaniach.

National Qualifications Frameworkthat apply to the academie year 2012/2013, contributed to the need to rebuilding edu cation programs for individual fields of studies by universities. Possibility to create of practical profiles gives us a chance to better adapt of educational offer to the local labor market, According to the author of this article new expectations on the part of employers as well as students themselves, on the one hand require consistency in the implementation of strategie, longterm purpose of the university, on the other hand of flexibility in tactical and operational activities.
