As a result of research on waste recycling (containing inorganic artificial fibres glass, basalt and ceramic) a technology of fibre recovery has been elaborated. A fibrous fraction of promissing properties was separated from waste material using three-stage segregation. The segregation process consists in the waste material crumbling, electromagnetic separation of metals and residue defibrosing with separation of useful fibres. The final step modified tearing machines. Full-scale tests of the devices were carried out successfully. The obtained fibrous fraction may be processed to useful products such as granules, plates or formed articles of good quality.
