Regression of fatigue curves using functions with graphs close to broken line

Two new regression functions for the regression of fatigue curves were presented in paper [1] - the former for high cycle range, the latter for the whole cycle range starting with tensile strength and finishing high cycle range. The former has two asymptotes in log-log fit - with negative slope in the range of low cycle fatigue and with zero slope in high cycle range. The curve corresponding to the former function goes very close to both asymptotes, only in the range of their intersection it deflects considerably. Thus this curve is very similar to classical fit of fatigue results - broken straight line. Deeper study of Bastenaire function [2] has shown that it presents the same behaviour in log-lin fit. In usual range of high cycle fatigue, i.e. between 10 4 and 10 8 cycles the graphs of both these functions differ less than by usual thickness of line.

W referacie przedstawiono metodę ustalania przebiegu obliczeniowej charakterystyki zmęczeniowej na podstawie wyników badań dwóch rodzajów standardowych próbek z nałożonymi powłokami. Bazując na statystycznej teorii podobieństwa zniszczenia zmęczeniowego wyprowadzono zależności pozwalające określić parametry niezbędne do zapisu równania krzywej zmęczeniowej. Weryfikacji doświadczalnej, ustalonych związków analitycznych, dokonano przez porównanie parametrów obliczeniowych Zel i mel z empirycznymi Zk i mk charakterystyki zmęczeniowej próbki z karbem obrączkowym. Wyniki badań zmęczeniowych próbek z nałożonymi powłokami chromowo-niklowymi w procesie natryskiwania gazowo-proszkowego przedstawiono w formie wykresów zmęczeniowych. Mimo zastosowania technologii nakładania powłok drastycznie obniżającej wytrzymałość zmęczeniową materiału rodzimego otrzymano zbliżone rezultaty obliczeń i badań.

In the paper the method of setting the course of a computational fatigue characteristics has been presented on base of test results of two types of standard samples with applied coatings. Basing on statistical theory of similarity of fatigue destruction, relations have been derived which enable to specify parameters necessary for recording equation of the fatigue curve. The experimental verification of the set analytical relations has been made through comparison of computational parameters Zel and mel with empirical Zk and Mk of the fatigue characteristics of a sample with a circular indentation. On drawing No 3 results are presented of fatigue tests of samples with applied chromium-nickel coatings in the process of gas-powder welding process. In spite of using the process of applying coatings which drastically decrease fatigue strength of the native material near results of calculations and tests have been obtained.
