W artykule przedstawiono rozwiązanie szybkiego chodnika z odcinkiem przyspieszającym do wchodzenia i z odcinkiem zwalniającym do schodzenia, zarówno do transportu osób, jak i ładunków (towarów). Proponowane rozwiązanie chodnika zapewnia jego wydajność na poziomie kilkunastu tysięcy osób na godzinę, na trasie liczącej kilkaset metrów. W porównaniu z podobnymi istniejącymi rozwiązaniami chodnik ma prędkość odcinka szybkobieżnego w granicach 8-10 razy większą w stosunku do prędkości bezpiecznej pierwszego odcinka przeznaczonego do wchodzenia.

In the paper a fast footway with a walk-on accelerating segment and a walk-off slowing down segment for transport of both people and loading has been presented. The main disadvantage of footways, known mainly from airport areas, is Iow speed due to passengers’ safety. The majority of passengers prefer to start walking on the footway to shorten their transfer. It causes uncomfortable situations for other people standing on the footway by pushing and touching them. The fast footway according to its standards in com-fortable conditions can transport about 12000 passengers per hour. Its usage could be present in many applications in the places where it is important to transport people in distances of a few hundred metres, for example in city centres. Therefore, in its under and over-ground versions it could be sufficient and productive. Moreover, the increase of the initial speed of the footway from 8-10 times ensures excellent conditions for transporting loadings and can be used in industrial transport. In case of a footway used for transporting people it is necessary to apply synchronized railways and additional warning signs and extra signals.
