Natural means of identification are the oldest and most dynamically developed ways of verifying human identity. Their development concerns in particular advanced biometric techniques with elements of artificial intelligence. This article presents - against the background of other means of human identification - the basic principles used to verify identity based on the image of the face.

W odniesieniu do opisanych przykładów przedstawiono zestawienia zagrożeń występujących na stanowisku pracy spawacza, charakterystyki oraz rodzaje stosowanych w tych warunkach ochron oczu i twarzy. Artykuł ma również pomóc czytelnikowi w interpretowaniu treści norm, w których znaleźć można wytyczne do doboru ochron oczu i twarzy.

The article presents a discussion on the general rule of selecting proper personal protection equipment designed to protect eyes and faces as well as in the content of welding. Lists of hazards occurring at the welder's workplace, characteristics and types of eye and face protection used in these conditions were presented. The article also aims to help out readers in interpreting the contents of standards containing guidelines connected to the selection of eye and face protection equipment.

Celem artykułu jest określenie skuteczności popularnych algorytmów rozpoznawania twarzy w przypadku zdjęć o niskiej jakości. W trakcie pracy zostały opisane podstawowe algorytmy rozpoznawania twarzy takie jak LBPH, Eigenfaces i Fisherfaces. Do przeprowadzenia badań stworzono platformę badawczą wyposażona w oprogramowanie pozwalające testować dane i zbierać wyniki. Rezultaty badań pokazała, że jedynym algorytmem nadającym się do takich rozwiązań jest LBPH. Pozostałe natomiast nie uzyskały odpowiednio wysokiego współczynnika skuteczności.

The goal of the article is to determine the effectiveness of popular face recognition algorithms for poor quality photos. Basic facial recognition algorithms such as LBPH, Eigenfaces and Fisherfaces were described during the work. A research platform equipped with software allowing to test data and collect results was created. The results of the research showed that the only algorithm suitable for such solutions is LBPH. The others, however, did not achieve a sufficiently high effectiveness factor.

Pierwsze urządzenia klimatyzacyjne w kopalni „Bogdanka" zaczęto stosować na początku lat 90. XX wieku. Były to układy klimatyzacyjne o małej mocy około 300 kW bezpośredniego działania stosowane do poprawy warunków klimatycznych w przodkach drążonych chodników, a także w wyrobiskach ścianowych. Stopniowe zwiększanie umaszynowienia, stosowanie maszyn o coraz większych mocach, rozbudowa kopalni powodująca wydłużenie dróg wentylacyjnych doprowadzanego powietrza i zwiększanie wielkości produkcji spowodowało, że stosowane układy klimatyzacyjne bezpośredniego działania stały się niewystarczające. W artykule opisano prace nad rozwojem klimatyzacji centralnej dla pola „Stefanów" i „Bogdanka".

The first air conditioning units in „Bogdanka" mine came into use in the early 90th of the XX century. They were air conditioning systems with low power of about 300 kW with direct effect used to improve climate conditions at the faces of roadways being driven and in longwall workings. Gradual development of mechanization, the use of machines with increasingly higher power, the expansion of the mine resulting in elongation of ventilation ways with intake air and increasing production volumes caused that the existing air conditioning systems of direct effect become insufficient. The article describes the works on the development of central air conditioning for „Stefanów" and „Bogdanka" mining areas.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań zachowania się materiałów wybuchowych emulsyjnych ładowanych mechanicznie do otworów strzałowych na przykładzie MWE RP-T2 w zależności od czasu pozostawania w otworze strzałowym. Z analizy wynika m.in., że pomimo kilkuletniego prowadzenia mechanicznego załadunku MWE, nadal duża część przodków odpalana jest poza zakresem optymalnych gęstości. Warto zwrócić uwagę na często pomijany negatywny wpływ stosunkowo wysokiej temperatury pierwotnej skał, co może powodować zupełnie inny przebieg nagazowania matrycy, niż zakładany przez producenta i przestrzegany przez operatorów modułu mieszalniczo-załadowczego.

The article presents the results of the behavior of the emulsion explosives loaded mechanically to blast holes on the example of MWE RP-T2 explosives depending on the time of their deposition in the blast holes. The analysis shows, among others, that in spite of several years of conducting of mechanical loading of MWE there is still a big part of the faces were shot firing is beyond the scope of optimal density. It is worth paying attention to the often overlooked negative impact of the relatively high virgin temperature of rocks, which can result in a completely different course in carbonation of the matrix than that assumed by the manufacturer and adhered to by operators mixing-loading module.

We analyze the facial structures of the convex set consisting of all two-qubit separable states. One of the faces is a four-dimensional convex body generated by the trigonometric moment curve arising from polyhedral combinatorics. Another one is an eight-dimensional convex body, which is the convex hull of a homeomorphic image of the two-dimensional sphere. Extreme points consist of points on the surface, and any two of tchem determine an edge. We also reconstruct the trigonometric moment curve in any even-dimensional affine space using the qubit-qudit systems, and characterize the facial structures of the convex hull.

W artykule przedstawione zostały wyniki badań, których celem była ocena możliwości zastosowania algorytmu SIFT w procedurze rozpoznania tożsamości na podstawie obrazów termalnych twarzy. Bazując na wynikach przeprowadzonych eksperymentów numerycznych wyznaczona została zależność funkcyjna opisująca wartość optymalnego progu decyzyjnego, który umożliwia odseparowanie klas osób znanych i nieznanych. Ponadto zamieszczone wykresy przedstawiają poziom uzyskiwanych błędów, które są możliwe do popełnienia w procesie identyfikacji. odatkowo opisane zostały właściwości termalnego obrazu twarzy oraz działanie algorytmu SIFT w zastosowaniu do obrazów termalnych.

This paper presents the results of the research conducted with the purpose of assessing the utilization of the Scale Invariant Feature Transform to the procedure of identification on the basis of thermal face images. Due to the establishment of the threshold value, which was estimated as a function of the number of classes collected in the database, it is possible to separate classes of known and unknown persons. The graphs inserted in this paper present the levels of errors, which can be made in the identification process. Moreover, the properties of thermal face images and the application of the SIFT algorithm to the processing of thermal images have been described briefly.

Przedmiotem badań jest kołowa płyta sandwiczowa poddana działaniu obciążenia poprzecznego rozłożonego równomiernie na okręgu. W pracy zaprezentowano model matematyczny wyboczenia lokalnego okładziny. Sformułowano energię odkształcenia sprężystego płyty z uwzględnieniem lokalnego wyboczenia okładziny. Z zasady stacjonarności całkowitej energii potencjalnej wyznaczono funkcję przemierzeń oraz obciążenie krytyczne. Opracowano model numeryczny MES płyty i wyznaczono obciążenie krytyczne oraz postać wyboczenia-zmarszczenia okładziny. Wyniki rozwiązań analitycznego i MES porównano.

The subject of the investigation is a circular sandwich plate under transverse load distributed equally on the circle. The mathematical model of the local buckling of the face has been developed. The energy of elastic deformation has been formulated with local buckling of the face taken into account. On the basis of the theorem of stationary total potential energy the displacements function and thecritical load have been determined. Additionally the FE model of the plate has been elaborated for which the critical load and buckling shape has been obtained. The results of the analytical and numerical analyses have been compared.

This paper develops a face detection method in color images using a multi-layer Neural Network classification. The proposed method is based on two image processing steps which first detect skin regions in the color image and then extract face information from those regions. Instead of performing huge search in every part of the test images, a pre-processing method for candidate face regions guides the image search using neural networks. The new algorithms perform fast and accurate face detection. Experiments have been carried out and satisfactory results have been obtained which indicate the robustness of the first process to detect faces under different environmental conditions.

Celem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie metody rozwiązania problemu detekcji twarzy w obrazach barwnych opartej na informacji o kolorze odgrywającym najważniejszą rolę zarówno w czasie segmentacji pikseli koloru skóry, a także wyodrębnienia z twarzy prawdopodobnych obszarów, z których wyłonione zostaną oczy. Otrzymany w ten sposób zbiór wykrytych elementów cech twarzy poddaje się dalszej analizie, zgodnie z geometrią twarzy.

The paper presents a method for solving face detection problem in colour images. The presented method is based on color information which plays a fundamental role during skin pixel segmentation, as well as during the detection of regions in which the eyes probably are in. The detected face elements are next analyzed in accordance with face geometry.

Fusion of multiple biometrics for human authentication performance improvement has received considerable attention. This paper presents a novel multimodal biometric authentication method integrating face and iris based on score level fusion. For score level fusion, support vector machine (SVM) based fusion rule is applied to combine two matching scores, respectively from Laplacianface based face verifier and phase information based iris verifier, to generate a single scalar score which is used to make the final decision. Experimental results show that the performance of the proposed method can bring obvious improvement comparing to the unimodal biometric identification methods and the previous fused face-iris methods.

The roman sculpture of the portrait character dated 50-30 BC. is the object of the contemporary medical diagnostics. The face of the quite old man represents some symptoms which may be due to different disease. The specialists representing surgery, dermatology and anatomy suggest some medical recognition of possible diseases on the basis of the visual characteristics of the face solely.

Specjaliści reprezentujący chirurgię, dermatologię i anatomię stawiają swoje hipotezy o charakterze diagnozy bazując jedynie na wizualnym oglądzie zmian chorobowych w obrębie twarzy.
