This article presents the results of research whose objective was to assess the risks of vibration in the workplace to a driver of a commercial vehicle. Under current EU law on working time, daily vibration exposure for drivers of commercial vehicles should be determined for every nine hours of work. Research on nuisance vibrations on a driver was carried out on a commercial vehicle operated under normal conditions in urban traffic and outside urban areas. Vibration exposure assessment was separately made for each direction of vibration influence. The obtained results enable us to conclude that drivers of commercial vehicles are exposed to harmful vibrations, which largely exceed the limits of exposure to mechanical vibrations in general.

W artykule zaprezentowano wyniki pomiarów drgań na stanowisku pracy kierowcy autobusu komunikacji miejskiej. Pomiary wykonano w wybranych typach autobusów komunikacji miejskiej w Poznaniu. Celem przeprowadzonych badań była analiza i ocena narażenia na drgania operatorów środków komunikacji miejskiej. Na podstawie zrealizowanych pomiarów wyznaczono wartość dziennego poziomu narażenia na drgania odniesionego do 8-godzinnego dnia pracy i porównano z poziomem dopuszczalnym określonym w Dyrektywie 2002/44/WE Parlamentu Europejskiego i Rady z dnia 25 czerwca 2002 w sprawie minimalnych wymagań w zakresie ochrony zdrowia i bezpieczeństwa dotyczących narażenia pracowników na ryzyko spowodowane czynnikami fizycznymi.

This article presents results of measurements of vibrations at the work place of a bus driver in public transport. The measurements were made in selected types of buses of public transport in Poznań. The purpose of the research was an analysis and assessment of exposure of drivers of means of public transport to vibrations. On the basis of the measurements, the value of daily exposure to risk arising from vibrations referring to eight hour working day was defined and compared with acceptable level defined in Directive 2002/44/EC of The European Parliament and of The Council of 25 June 2002 on the minimum health and safety requirements regarding the exposure of workers to the risks arising from physical agents.

The article provides a discussion on the studies and analysis of exposure to vibrations generated by the motor vehicle. For the driving safety and comfort it is very important what kind and values of vibration are to car boy. As the vibration source the motor-engine was chosen. The experiments were conducted on the car vehicle which was placed on the special test racks. It allows eliminate the road roughens impact on the suspension and in result to car body. The changes of the vibration signals from the motor-engine, floor panel and seat were observed and measured in 3 axes. These vibrations are producing a level of discomfort for driver.
