The paper presents an expedient repair system in the context of sustaining weapon system availability under combat operations. Firstly, the crucial processes of battlefield maintenance were defined and principles and nature of expedient (temporary, improvised) repairs were described. Additionally, basic allied documents related to battlefield maintenance and expedient repair were mentioned. Furthermore, expedient repair systems in selected allied armies were briefly described in order to identify the basic elements of the expedient repair system, which are common for all allies. The identified elements were shortly characterized.

Basing on the first part of the paper entitled: “Repair of weapon systems under combat operations. Part 1 – nature and principles”, the current paper presents modification propositions in the repair system under combat operations with reference to expedient (temporary, improvised) repairs taking into consideration Polish Land Forces.

The paper presents description of nature and principles of repair system under combat operations in context of using expedient (temporary, improvised) methods. Firstly, the crucial processes of battlefield maintenance were defined and principles and nature of expedient repairs were described. Additionally, basic allied documents were mentioned about battlefield maintenance and expedient repair. Furthermore, expedient repair systems in chosen allied armies were briefly described in order to identify basic elements of the expedient repair system which are common for all allies. W artykule przedstawiono istotę i zasady systemu napraw w trakcie działań bojowych w aspekcie wykorzystania metod doraźnych (prowizorycznych, improwizowanych). Na wstępie zdefiniowano procedury systemu napraw polowych i opisano zasady i charakter napraw doraźnych. Dodatkowo omówiono dokumenty regulujące tę problematykę. Ponadto scharakteryzowano system napraw doraźnych w wybranych armiach sojuszniczych, aby wskazać jego podstawowe elementy, które są wspólne dla wszystkich sojuszników. Elementy te zostały również krótko opisane.

Wychodząc od pierwszej części artykułu pt.: „Naprawa uzbrojenia w trakcie działań bojowych. Część 1 – Charakter, zasady i technologia”, w niniejszym artykule przedstawiono propozycje zmian systemu napraw polowych w czasie działań bojowych związane z wdrożeniem napraw doraźnych (prowizorycznych, improwizowanych) w Wojskach Lądowych RP. Propozycje wdrożenia systemu napraw doraźnych przedstawiono na szczeblu centralnym i taktycznym, uwzględniając specyfikę i strukturę logistyki wojsk lądowych oraz zasady działania uwarunkowane dokumentami doktrynalnymi.

Starting from the first part of the article entitled: "Repair of weapon systems under combat operations. Part 1 - character, principles and technology", this paper presents some solutions and proposals for improvement of field repairs systems under combat operations related to the implementation of expedient repairs (temporary, improvised) in the Polish Land Forces. The concept for implementation of the expedient repair system is described at the central and tactical level, taking into account the nature and structure of the Polish Armed Forces as well as procedures and rules of combat operations provided in doctrinal documents.
