The research problem addressed by the authors focuses on assessing the readiness of the academic community for evacuation in crisis situations, using the Faculty of Management Engineering at the Poznan University of Technology as a case study. The study involved evaluating both the level of knowledge and the subjective sense of preparedness to act in the event of an emergency. This evaluation was conducted by way of a survey that included elements of a knowledge test, targeting students, academic teaching staff and administrative personnel. The findings revealed that the level of knowledge regarding evacuation procedures within the academic community is moderate, and the overall self-assessment of evacuation readiness exceeded the results of the knowledge test. The authors highlight the importance of regular training sessions and practical drills to enhance evacuation preparedness and situational awareness. Furthermore, the article underscores the necessity for in-depth research to better understand the barriers to effective evacuation and toexplore preferred methods of risk communication.
