In the paper, we emphasize the idea of radical changes in contemporary medicine that have occurred as a result of the unprecedented development of scientific and technological progress. There is a growing need to analyse the current state and problems in the field of medicine, to consider its new goals and perspectives with an emphasis on the ethical dimension. From a wide range of questions and problems of contemporary medicine, we examine the ethical aspects of the patient's autonomy, commercialization of medicine and personalized medicine. We point out that applied occupational ethics in this field also provides a strategy for cultivating professional responsibility for doctors (healthcare professionals).

Podjęto próbę wyjaśnienia zależności występujących między burzliwym rozwojem technik wytwarzania (w tym spawanych) konstrukcji metalowych a występującymi ich awariami. Tylko nieliczne awarie i uszkodzenia powstają bez bezpośredniego udziału czynnika ludzkiego w czasie przetwarzania materiału w gotowy wyrób. Podstawowe przyczyny awarii o różnym zakresie strat - w tym również ludzkich - wynikają z niewłaściwej działalności człowieka w procesie projektowania i wytwarzania. Ich powstawanie może wynikać z ignorancji technicznej, zaniedbań czy nawet działalności mającej na celu ukrycie wad występujących w wykonywanej konstrukcji. W każdej z tych przyczyn odpowiedzialność spoczywa na ludziach, którzy do ich wystąpienia doprowadzili i którzy ponoszą za zaistniały stan odpowiedzialność karną, finansową, jak i szeroko pojętą odpowiedzialność moralną.

An attempt to explain the dependence occurring between the rapid development of manufacturing techniques (including the welded ones) of metal constructions and their failures was made in the article. Only few failures and defects arise without direct involvement of human factor during material processing into a finished product. The primary causes of failures of various scope of losses - including also human ones - result from wrong activity of a man during the process of designing and manufacturing. Their occurrence can also result from technical ignorance, negligence or even due to the activity aiming at hiding the defects present in the construction being carried out. The responsibility for each of these causes lies on the part of the men who contributed to their occurrence and who take criminal, financial responsibility as well as moral responsibility widely understood for the existing state.
