W artykule przedstawiono niektóre zalety i wady japońskiej metody masowego odkwaszania DAE.

Some advantages and disadvantages of the Japanese method of mass deacidification are presented in the article. The author investigated pH (hot extraction method) and ethanolamines content (by determination of nitrogen content) in the cellulosic materials. The investigations were started 10 months after DAE treatment and the results were compared with the results obtained after accelerated ageing. The pH values and ethanolamines content decreased significantly after ageing. The results do not mean clearly the effects of DAE treatment are of short duration. The permanence of ethanolamines in cellulosic materials presented may be significantly better during the process of natural ageing than ageing with high temperatures, because the compounds are volatile.
