Artykuł prezentuje informacje związane z planowanym uruchomieniem przeprawy promowej na Wiśle w Solcu Kujawskim. W pracy przedstawiono warunki przyrodnicze, które mogą stanowić utrudnienie dla funkcjonowania przeprawy, w szczególności aspektów hydrologicznych, takich jak sezonowość występowania stanów wód niskich i ekstremalnie wysokich Wisły, tworzenie się pokrywy lodowej czy ruchu rumowiska wleczonego w postaci łach piaszczystych. Omówiono uwarunkowania społeczno – ekonomiczne projektowanej przeprawy, w szczególności pod względem komunikacyjnym. Podano prognozę natężenia ruchu samochodowego dla promu na 15 pojazdów. Zaprezentowano parametry techniczne przeprawy, w tym koncepcja zagospodarowania terenów nadbrzeżnych i aktualne zaawansowanie procesu realizacji inwestycji. W pracy udowodniono, że przyszłe funkcjonowanie przeprawy promowej ma usprawnić transport publiczny aglomeracji Toruńsko- Bydgoskiej.

The article presents information related to the planned launch of a ferry crossing on the Vistula River in Solec Kujawski. The paper presents environmental conditions, which may pose difficulties for operation of the crossing, in particular hydrological aspects, such as phenomenon of low water levels and extremely high water levels on the Vistula, formation of ice cover or bedload movement in the form of sandbars. There is also discussed the socio - economic conditions of ferry crossings, particularly in terms of communication. There is given the forecast for car traffic of ferry for 15 vehicles. There are also presented technical parameters of ferry, including the concept of development of coastal areas and current advancement of the investment. In the study it is proven that the future operation of ferry is to improve urban public transport between Torun and Bydgoszcz.

A probabilistic approach is gaining popularity in evaluating conditions of the environment. Hence some useful methods of the probabilistic evaluation of the environment conditions have been presented and classified according to the degree of relying upon probabilistic measures and probability theory. Division of the methods has been introduced into frequentionistic methods and metric ones. The way of global treatment of the three sources of vagueness (randomness, fuzziness, errors) has been proposed. Theoretical and practical kinds of the environment conditions assessments have been distinguished, as well as aims and geometrical interpretation of these assessments have also been presented. Besides, two examples of aprobabilistic assessments have been referred.
