Energetic state parameters measurements of LM 2500 naval gas turbine for modeling and simulation purposes

This article presents examples of results of energetic state parameters measurements of LM 2500 naval gas turbines operated by the Polish Navy. Currently in operation there are four LM 2500-type engines. In the near future, another LM 2500 engine will commence operations, along with a project 661M patrol ship. The energetic state parameters measurements covers the engine start-up process, their operation in idle mode and within the whole range of load variations, as well as stoppage of engine process. The article presents examples of characteristics specific to the above processes, determined based on the results of studies of this kind of engines. The results of these studies will be used to verify the modeling and simulation results of the internal energy processes occurring in this kind of engine.

Paper deals with present aspects and aims of energy research. It describes development and transformation of research in Slovak energy sector with comparison with old European Union member states. Finally, the paper's authors would like to define new challenges of future energy research in Slovakia through a creation of new body - Slovak technical unit for power engineering.

W badaniach wpływu zmian parametrów układu cieplnego siłowni zachodzi potrzeba prowadzenia wielokrotnych i pracochłonnych obliczeń bilansowych. Ma to miejsce w szczególności przy badaniu wpływu zmian schematu cieplnego układu. Wykorzystanie modelu struktury uniwersalnej pozwala znacznie zmniejszyć nakład pracy przy tego typu badaniach. W referacie przedstawiono metodykę badań z wykorzystaniem struktury uniwersalnej zbioru wariantów układu cieplnego, określonego przez zakres przewidzianych badań. Omówiono również sposób generowania modeli dla poszczególnych wariantów - jako sumy modelu struktury uniwersalnej (około 90% modelu) i niewielkich uzupełnień, różnych dla każdej ze struktur. Dalsza część artykułu dotyczy przekształcenia tak zbudowanego modelu, do postaci obliczeniowej, oraz doboru metody numerycznej z uwzględnieniem istniejących procedur standardowych. Poszczególne etapy przedstawionej metodyki są ilustrowane przykładem, który dotyczy badań wpływu zmiany struktury regeneracji, w układzie cieplnym bloku kondensacyjnego elektrowni parowej na roczne zużycie paliwa.

Multiple, tedious and time-consuming calculations are needed to investigate the effect of parameter changes on the performance of a power plant thermal system. These calculations become even more complex when one wishes to investigate the effect of changes to the system structure. This paper details a method of investigation that uses a universal structure model, updated for a particular case. Also discussed is the method of generating individual models as a sum of the universal structure model (over 90% of the model) and small structure-specific modifications. The remainder of the article focuses on an algorithmic form of the model, accompanied by numerical calculations using standard procedures. . Individual segments of the presented methodology are illustrated with an example investigating the effect of changes in the regenerative system of the condensing block of a power plant on its' fuel consumption.
