W pracy przedstawiono przegląd rozwiązań stosowanych w próżniomierzach jonizacyjnych i spektrometrach mas wykorzystujących strumień termoelektronów do jonizacji materii w postaci gazowej, w szczególności przykłady konstrukcji źródeł jonów oraz układów polaryzacji ich elektrod. Na podstawie wyników przeprowadzonej analizy zaproponowano nowy sposób detekcji prądu termoemisji elektronowej dla układów stabilizacji natężenia strumienia i energii elektronów.

This paper presents an overview of the vacuum measurement instruments using electron - impact gas ion sources, especially examples of the ion sources and biasing systems. Based on the analysis results a new thermionic emission current detection method to implementation in stabilizer of ionizing beam intensity and electron energy has been proposed.

Low energy electron attachment to nitro compounds (nitromethane, nitroethane and nitrobenzene) in the gas phase is reported in the electron energy range from zero up to about 10 eV with an energy resolution of 120 meV. Dissociative and nondissociative (only in nitrobenzene case) electron attachment were observed. Based on the comparison of the of the abundance of studied ions with CI in the dissociative electron attachment to CCI(4) at 0,8 eV the estimations for the all observed ions were obtained.

This work proves that correlation between an electron accelerating voltage and a beam intensity has a disadvantageous effect on the measurement results reproducibility erformed with the mass spectrometers and significantly extends total measurement time. The research results in a postulate of making electron accelerating voltage and ionizing beam intensity independent of each other. The conditions that are necessary and sufficient for the implementation of the postulate have been formuleted. A novels the biasing system of an electron source with a hot cathode have is presented. It has been experimentally proved that the biasing system with a hot cathode have is presented. It has been experimentally proved that the biasing system with the implemented decorrelation postulate when applied to measurement instruments makes possible to enhance the reproducibility of the measurements two-folds and to reduce the measurement time by four-folds.

The effect of electrons energy on residual gas spectrum in residual gas analyser QSM200/40 is considered. The results of double jonization of Ar, N(sub 2) and CO are presented.
