A wide variety of industries generate oily wastewaters in the form of oil-in-water emulsions. The problem of utilization of used emulsions, particularly from machining process, is of great importance. In this paper the results of concentration of used oil-in-water emulsions from machining process in batch ultrafiltration are presented. A scheme of mobile plant foor this concentration is proposed as well.

In this work typical flow structure for liquid-liquid horizontal Couette-Taylor flow was described. The maps of the flow regime were presented. The observed regime was plotted as a function of power input (connected with the rotor rotation) and volume fraction of silicone liquid. The problem of phases dispersion has been discussed.

An experimental separation of oil/water emulsions in a column electroflotator has been carried out. For example, obtained results (oil concentration, deoiling rate, deoiling degree) are presented in graphic form. Added problems in this field refer to apparatus details, development of characteristic process date and quantitative description of the process.

When released to the environment those substances may cause very dangerous contamination of the soil and both ground and surface waters with oily substances. Spent cutting fluids are separated in the ultrafiltration process into the oil-free water phase and so called concentrate. Purified water can be used for the preparation of fresh emulsions and the highly concentrated waste phase may undergo further thermal destruction.

As a result of the research we carried out on the pilot-scale ultrafiltration plant, the temperature and pressure dependence of the permeate flux of pure water (hydraulic permeability) for the 0, 1, 5, 50 and 200 membranes was determined.
