The main purpose of the article is to identify the main factors that have the greatest impact on building satisfaction of employees who work in Polish organizations. In addition, the author will try to identify the expectations of respondents that apply to their workplaces and identify the most important problems and barriers in the surveyed organizations, occurring in the processes of human capital management. As the main research method, in addition to the literature analysis, of course, the author chose a survey, in the form of a structured interview, with team leaders and their employees. The entire research process was carried out in 44 purposefully selected Polish organizations, in 2021 (254 employees of these organizations took part in the survey). Of course, due to the number of subjects, the study has a pilot character. Based on the analysis of the literature and the conclusions of the survey, 4 main groups of determinants that have the greatest impact on the level of job satisfaction of respondents have been identified – they have been divided into professional and nonprofessional factors. In addition, the author described the main barriers that generate the most problems and dysfunctions that accompany respondents during their work.

This article presents topics related to the main stakeholders of enterprises in the 21st century – employees operating in a market dominated by globalization and technological progress. To a large extent, they determine the competitive position of their organizations. To this end, the author describes the expectations of Polish employees as key stakeholders of the organization in which they are employed. Moreover, the author defines and describes the conditions that must be met to optimize the use of their potential. Good relations with this group of stakeholders is the basis for creating business strategies in the 21st century. The author also presents a description of his own research, which concerns the analysis of actions taken by companies aimed at creating optimal working conditions for their employees; this is also the main goal of this article. The analysis of source materials and research results indicated that employees played a large role in organizations and the need to implement dedicated tools and management methods. It should be obvious that the new economic realities force companies to invest in intangible resources, as it is thanks to them that it is possible to achieve market success. The main feature of companies that seek to achieve success is social sensitivity, which is manifested by a series of actions aimed at meeting the expectations of employees.

W artykule dokonano identyfikacji składowych bezpiecznego środowiska pracy posiłkując się wynikami badań, dotyczących oczekiwań pracowników wykonawczych. Stwierdzono, że istnieją przesłanki do poszerzenia obszaru tego środowiska, rozpatrywanego jak dotąd głównie przez pryzmat bhp, o aspekty psychospołeczne, dotyczące odpowiedniego kształtowania warunków i bezpieczeństwa zatrudnienia oraz atmosfery pracy i współdziałania, co sprzyja wzrostowi dobrostanu zatrudnionych, a przez to ich zaangażowania.

The paper identifies components of a safe working environment drawing from results of research into blue collar workers’ expectations. It was found that the environment, instead of taking the traditional work-safety-and-hygiene perspective, might be extended with psycho-social elements creating the desired conditions and security of employment, work atmosphere and cooperation, which contributes to employees’ well-being as well as increases their commitment.
