Artykuł koncentruje się na analizie porównawczej systemu wyższego szkolnictwa technicznego w Polsce i USA. Większość danych zawartych w artykule dotyczy szkolnictwa wyższego w USA. Autorzy założyli ze system wyższego szkolnictwa technicznego w Polsce jest czytelnikom znany. Analizie poddano oczekiwania studentów i role profesorów w spełnianiu oczekiwań studentów. Artykuł opisuje szczegółowo procedurę oceny pracowników naukowo- dydaktycznych przez studentów i znaczenie tej oceny przy ewaluacji pracowników uczelni. Artykuł koncentruje się również na ważności rotacji pracowników naukowych pomiędzy uczelnią i przemysłem.

The article focuses on a comparative analysis of the higher technical education system in Poland and the USA. Most of the data in the article concerns higher education in the USA. The authors assumed that the system of higher technical education in Poland is known to the readers. The expectations of students and the role of professors in meeting students' expectations were analyzed. The article describes in detail the procedure for annual faculty evaluation. This evaluation takes under consideration the quality of teaching, research and scholarly activity as well as service to the university. The article also focuses on the importance of the exchange of faculty between industry and the university.

Introduction/background: The essence of human resource management is the effective and strategic management of the organisation's people. The key elements of this process are recruiting and selecting appropriate candidates, developing and motivating employees, ensuring harmonious team relations, evaluating staff and managing their departures. Appropriate human resource management contributes to increased productivity, employee engagement and the achievement of organisational goals. Aim of the paper: The aim of this study is to present the functioning of selected human resource management processes among retail shop employees in a retail company in the sports and functional apparel industry, and to develop conclusions and recommendations contributing to the improvement of HRM processes in the studied company and other organisations. Materials and methods: For the aim of the study such research techniques like observation, interview and questionnaire survey were used. Results and conclusions: As a result of the research conducted, conclusions have been developed regarding individual human resource management processes. Recommendations were also made that can be used to improve HRM both in the organisation studied and in other companies. Among the most important areas for improvement were the process of managing departures and the incentive systems used in the organisation.

The article discusses the issue of the official assessment of the police. It covers the theoretical aspects of periodic appraisal of employees and presents the study results on the official assessment of police officers. The first part of the article deals with the essence of the employee appraisal and its impact on the subfunctions of human resource management system. It demonstrates the classification of criteria and assessment methods and describes the employee review-related risks. Methodological assumptions, the result analysis and conclusions from the conducted studies have been contained in the further part of the article. The aim of the studies was to diagnose the assessment system of police forces. The studies were conducted at one of Municipal Police Stations in Wielkopolskie voivodeship. They were carried out within the research project on the management of uniform services. The performed studies were of a pilot character and will encompass a greater number of respondents. The main method of the conducted studies was a diagnostic survey. As a result of the studies performed, it was found that the system of official assessment required fundamental changes. The existing assessment system proved not to have performed one of its basic functions, namely it does not provide reliable information on the quality of work performed by police officers.

W pracy przedstawiono działania podejmowane w Katedrze mające na celu zwiększenie bezpieczeństwa pracy pracowników i szkolonych studentów. Działania te zostały zainicjowane ogólnymi wymaganiami wdrożonego i certyfikowanego systemu zarządzania jakością.
