The article presents a concept concerning a hydrogen power-supply system for an auxiliary rail vehicle. The selection of key component parameters was based on the expected energy consumption and power balance of the vehicle. The research work discussed in the article involved the identification of traction characteristics and the simulation of theoretical rides, constituting the basis for the development of optimum vehicle control algorithms.

W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję zabudowy wodorowego układu zasilania dla pomocniczego pojazdu szynowego. Na podstawie przewidywanego zużycia energii oraz bilansu mocy pojazdu wytypowano parametry kluczowych komponentów. Wyznaczono charakterystyki trakcyjne oraz przeprowadzono symulacje przejazdów teoretycznych. Będzie to stanowić podstawę do opracowania optymalnych algorytmów sterowania dla pojazdu.

The article presents a proposal for the installation of components of a hydrogen power supply system in a rail passenger vehicle. The research work discussed in the article involved the analysis of various vehicle configurations and the determination of traction characteristics, which, subsequently, were used to perform a series of theoretical simulations of journeys on a specific route in relation to various assumptions. The tests led to the calculation of average energy consumption and the assessment of hydrogen consumption for a selected vehicle configuration.

W artykule przedstawiono propozycję zabudowy komponentów wodorowego układu zasilania w szynowym pojeździe pasażerskim. Przeanalizowano różne konfiguracje pojazdu i wyznaczono charakterystyki trakcyjne. Na ich podstawie przeprowadzono serię symulacji przejazdów teoretycznych na określonej trasie, dla różnych założeń. Wyliczono średnie zużycie energii i oszacowano zużycie wodoru dla wybranej konfiguracji pojazdu.

The aim of the research reported in the article was designing a hybrid drive system based on an outboard internal combustion engine offered by a selected producer and testing its operating characteristics. The article presents different designs of this type of drive which can be found in the literature and are available in the market. The designed hybrid outboard drive system was tested both on the laboratory test rig and in real operating conditions. The results of these tests are included.
