This paper deals with the existence and the asymptotic behavior of positive continuous solutions of the nonlinear elliptic system [formula] in the half space [formula] where α, β ≥ 1and r, s .≥ 0. The functions p and q are required to satisfy some appropriate conditions related to the Kato class [formula]. Our approach is based on potential theory tools and the use of Schauder's fixed point theorem.
The problem of asymptotic homogenization for one-dimensional stationary elliptic system was studied. The value of effective conductivity coefficient of homogeneous elliptic macroscopic system was determined for the basic cell approximated by a "stepped" function. The conditions to obtain given conductivity coefficient, in the considered homogenization problem, were shown. Results of numerical calculations were provided to illustrate discussed issues.

This work presents problem of periodic homogenization of one dimensional elliptic systems. Inverse homogenization problem are considered too. This allowed to set effectivelly parameters of homogenized system.

W pracy przedstawiono problem homogenizacji jednowymiarowych ośrodków o mikrostrukturze okresowej, dokładniej homogenizację jednowymiarowego systemu eliptycznego o warstwowej mikrostrukturze periodycznej. Podano przykład mikrostruktury okresowej, odpowiednio sparametryzowany, w którym można wyznaczyć parametry układu po homogenizacji. Następnie rozważono problem odwrotny: w jakich proporcjach należy mieszać składniki, by po homogenizacji uzyskać materiał o zadanych własnościach.

We study a system of pseudodifferential equations which is elliptic in the Petrovskiî sense on a closed smooth manifold. We prove that the operator generated by the system is a Fredholm operator in a refined two-sided scale of Hilbert function spaces. Elements of this scale are special isotropic spaces of Hörmander-Volevich-Paneah.
We present a counterexample, which shows that convexification, i.e. the passage to the convex hull of the set of admissible operators, does not preserve the convex hull of the set of feasible states of the corresponding family of elliptic systems.
