Opisano elektrosorpcję tlenków węgla(II) i (IV) na stopach Pt–Rh. Przedstawiono wpływ składu powierzchni stopów na potencjał utleniania powstałych w wyniku adsorpcji indywiduów. Porównano potencjały utleniania produktów adsorpcji CO i CO2. Wykazano wpływ obecności zaadsorbowanego wodoru w procesie elektrosorpcji CO na proces utleniania adsorbatu.

Electro-oxidn. of CO and CO2 adsorbates was examd. electrochem. The oxidn. potentials of adsorbed species were lower on Pt–Rh alloys than those on the pure metals and were related to alloy’s surface compn.. In the presence/ absence of adsorbed H2, CO adsorbates were oxidized at lower/higher potentials. With adsorbed H2, 12% of Rh at the alloy surface sufficed to suppress significantly the potential of oxidn. as compared with that at pure Pt. The potential shift was ca. 140 mV.
