Problem of ship shell durability

The article concerns the improvement of engineering calculation and refinement of durability margins of ship hull plane elements. Main results had been collected through vast experiments on tin construction-like models and half natural size structures. Results allow the refinement of areas' allocation of "flexible" and "rigid" links of plane elements under local span loading and function estimation of failure deflexion of plane of longitudinal rigidity, which is provided by the structure in the area of local deformation. Work results can be used to revise engineering calculations and refine the norms of defect survey. Wide usage of such survey norms can lead to ship repair time reduction and improve operational efficiency.

Artykuł dotyczy poprawy obliczeń inżynierskich i udoskonalenia marginesów trwałości elementów kadłuba statku. Rezultaty otrzymano po przeprowadzeniu wielu eksperymentów wykonanych na blaszanych modelach w skali 1:2. Zebrane wyniki pozwalają na udoskonalenie rozmieszczenia obszarów "elastycznych" i "sztywnych" połączeń elementów płaszczyzny będących pod miejscowym naciskiem i oszacowanie awaryjności wzdłużnej sztywności tej płaszczyzny, która jest wskazana przez strukturę w obszarze miejscowej deformacji. Rezultaty pracy mogą być wykorzystane do zmiany obliczeń inżynierskich i udoskonalenia norm badania wad. Szerokie wykorzystanie tych norm może prowadzić do skrócenia czasu naprawy statku i poprawy efektywności operacyjnej.

To the problem of designing of board coverings that receive intensive local load

This paper is devoted to the development of refined methods of locally loaded board coverings bearing strength evaluation. In domestic practice it is shown, for the first time, that taking into account rigidity of a plate changes not only deforming nature of a tie, but it dramatically varies qualitative characteristics of a loading strength of a tie.

Referat jest poświęcony rozwijaniu zaawansowanych metod projektowania mocnicy burtowej poddanej obciążeniom miejscowym, na podstawie oceny obciążenia. Pokazano, że po uwzględnieniu zmiany sztywności płyty zmienia się znacznie nie tylko charakter odkształcenia wzdłużnicy pokładowej, ale również jej jakościowa charakterystyka wytrzymałości na obciążenia.

W pracy przedstawiono model polikrystalicznego materiału ceramicznego, w którym ziarna połączone są poprzez cienkie warstwy o innych własnościach mechanicznych. Powoduje to powstanie niejednorodnych rozkładów deformacji oraz koncentracje naprężeń inicjujące mikrouszkodzenia.

Ceramic polycrystalline materials show non-linear and complex response to applied loads due to their internal structure. The inter-granular layers significantely change the material response. The aim of the paper is to present a new constitutive model for the case of uniaxial tension of the polycrystalline materials, including the inter-granular metallic layers that create its internal structure. The quasi-static deformation process of this material include description of: elastic deformation of brittle grains, elasto-plastic deformation of inter-granular layers and deformation due to micro-porosity development in layers.
