In this paper, the effect of a cracked tooth on the dynamic response of a simple gearbox with a flexible coupling is studied. The gearbox is driven by a combustion engine through a flexible coupling for which Nelson and Crandall’s model is used. The acyclism regime is generated by diesel engine inducing fluctuations of speed, torque and meshing stiffness. In addition, the cracked tooth of the wheel gear is modelled by lowering the meshing stiffness. After solving the equations of motion by using the Newmark method, the time response, spectrum, joint time-frequency analysis and envelope spectrum are used to characterize the dynamic response of the defected gearbox where the cracked tooth frequency is irregular and independent of the acyclism frequency.

The study presents results and procedure of object-oriented and test-driven implementation of neural-network-based state estimator. The presented algorithm has been developed for estimation of the state variables of the mechanical part of electric drive with elastic coupling. Estimated state variables – load speed and shaft stiffness torque – can be used in speed control process for reducing mechanical vibrations of working machine. The basic objective was to create a simple, extensible and readable program code, performing the task of state estimation of the considered system. The target platform is a DSP (Digital Signal Processor) from SHARC (Super Harvard architecture Single-Chip Computer) family, which allows for hardware acceleration of matrix operations. The IDE (Integrated Development Environment) available for the selected platform made it possible to write program in C++. The usage of UML (Unified Modelling Language) in the development of control software was discussed.

W pracy przedstawiono wyniki implementacji trzech dyskretnych metod estymacji wektora stanu układu dynamicznego – obserwatora Luenbergera, filtru Kalmana i estmatora neuronowego. Implementacji dokonano w języku C++, w środowisku VisualDSP 5.0, przy założeniu wykorzystania algorytmów do obserwacji stanu części mechanicznej napędu elektrycznego, charakteryzującego się sprężystym połaczeniem z maszyną roboczą. Wykorzystano technikę programowania obiektowego.

Article presents the results of implementation of three discrete methods of estimation of the state vector of the dynamic system - Luenberger observer, Kalman filter and neural network estimator. Implementation was done in C ++, in an VisualDSP 5.0 environment, assuming the use of algorithms to observe the state of the mechanical part of the electric drive, characterized by a elastic connection with the working machine. Autors had used object-oriented programming technique.
