Remote controlled laboratories had a great push during the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, they were already out there but lacking in visibility. This external trigger pushed the academy to face a global challenge to start offering remote experiments more consistently and maturely. Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) has been offering several remote experiments since 2000 but with the need for an update due to technological aging. As such, the framework for remote experiments in education (FREE) was created based on new web technologies. In addition to the most diverse experiments that had already been developed, FREE includes two experiments that aimed at advanced-level physics students: the Langmuir probe and the electromagnetic (EM) cavity. Both allow users to configure the various parameters and to access the results in real time or check back later. All this access is done using a browser (on a PC or mobile phone) without the need to install additional software. The results of an experimental execution are stored in a database and are downloadable, allowing users to do various analyses and to determine the corresponding plasma density and temperature. In this paper, we will introduce how FREE was used in the implementation of both experiments and give an insight into their didactic approach, such as: (i) how to perform an experimental execution, (ii) the typical data set obtained with, and (iii) the corresponding analysis necessary for the user to retrieve information from it.

Autor omawia wyniki badań nad stanem szkolenia w zakresie powszechnej samoobrony oraz rozważa możliwości zwiększenia jego skali i efektywności w wyniku zastosowania nowych metod kształcenia na odległość. Analizuje akty prawne dotyczące tego rodzaju szkolenia, a także ocenia sam proces edukacji, wykorzystując dane zawarte w dokumentach oraz uzyskane podczas badań empirycznych przeprowadzonych metodą sondażu diagnostycznego. Z badań wynika, że prowadzenie szkoleń w zakresie powszechnej samoobrony jest niezbędne do podniesienia poziomu wiedzy społeczeństwa oraz dobrego przygotowania się na wypadek wystąpienia zagrożenia. Wykorzystanie nowych technologii kształcenia w postaci d-learningu umożliwi przeszkolenie większej liczby obywateli w krótszym czasie.

The aim of the article is to present the results research on the realization of the common self-defense training and to assess the possibility of improving this training using new methods of distance education (learning). The first part of the article was reviewing and evaluating the existing legal acts in the field of training from the common self-defense. Then, the learning process was evaluated by analyzing the data contained in the literature and on the basis of the empirical studies conducted by the diagnostic method. The final part of the article was made based on the literature study about distance learning. The research included in the article shows up that realization of the common self-defense training is necessary to improve the knowledge of citizens and better prepare in the event of a threat. The use of new education technologies in the form of d-learning will allow to training more citizens in a shorter time.

Significant development in the use of IT in education was the adoption of Learning Management Systems (LMS). They offer broad range of features that help administrate and organize students, material, knowledge verification and more. However, little is known about students preferences and reception regarding specific LMS features. This paper presents and discusses feedback obtained from students who used LMS and summarizes it with propositions for future research.

Znaczący rozwój w wykorzystaniu systemów informatycznych w kształceniu stanowiło wdrożenie Systemów Zarządzania Uczeniem (LMS, ang. Learning Management System). Oferują one szeroki zakres możliwości, które pomagają w administracji i organizacji studentów, materiału, pozwalają na weryfikację wiedzy i wiele innych. Jednak, niewiele wiadomo na temat preferencji i odbioru studentów dotyczących poszczególnych elementów LMS. Niniejsza publikacja prezentuje i omawia opinie studentów używających LMS i podsumowuje je wraz z podaniem propozycji na przyszłe badania.

Using computers for grading can simplify work for teachers. However it is a sensitive part of their work and must be performed carefully. More information is required on students' reception and opinions about e-grading. This paper is a case study of e-grading used in Informatics course and discusses results obtained from surveying the students after being graded by a teacher and a computer.

Wykorzystanie komputerów do oceniania może uprościć pracę nauczycielom. Jednakże jest to wrażliwa część ich pracy i musi być wykonywana z ostrożnością. Potrzeba informacji na temat odbioru i opinii studentów na temat e-oceniania. Niniejszy artykuł stanowi studium przypadku wykorzystania e-oceniania na kursie Informatyki i omawia wyniki ankiet studenckich, którzy ocenieni zostali przez nauczyciela oraz przez komputer.
