Introduction: It is necessary to have special experience to perform the Monte Carlo calculation, commonly used in medical physics and accepted as the gold standard. In this study, we developed software to teach basic steps to medical physicists who were inexperienced in the medical linear accelerator Monte Carlo simulation. Material and methods: For the design interface, a software called GamosLinacGUI was developed using Gnome Builder, Python, and GTK. The user, who wants to learn the basics of GAMOS and simulate a linear accelerator, can enter the values in the software, select some options and quickly create geometry and physics files. Results: For proof that the software generates the correct inputs for GAMOS simulation in the same conditions for the measurements and calculations. Required files for GAMOS have been created and tested and run the simulation accordingly. This software was tested with Centos Linux. Conclusions: GamosLinacGUI has been successfully developed, which creates the geometry and physics files required for the simulation with GAMOS as a training and learning tool.

The paper argues for the necessity to combine MMR methods (questionnaire, interview), gaze tracking as neuroscience tool and sentiment/opinion techniques for personal satisfaction analysis at the maritime and training education (MET) and proposes a practical research approach for this purpose. The purpose of this paper is to compare the results from gaze tracker (Face analysis tool) of three experiments & sentiment analysis of two experiments for satisfaction evaluation of the students-users’ (subjective) satisfaction of the maritime education via user interface evaluation of several types of educational software (i.e. engine simulator, ECDIS, MATLAB). The experimental procedure presented here is a primary effort to research the emotion analysis (satisfaction) of the users-students in MET. The gaze tracking & sentiment analysis methodology appears to be one sufficient as evaluation tool. Finally, the ultimate goal of this research is to find and test the critical factors that influence the educational practice and user’s satisfaction of MET modern educational tools (simulators, ECDIS etc.).

The aim of the study was to examine the motivation and predispositions of students of the Faculty of Production Engineering at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin to attend laboratory classes in Materials Science supported with a computer program Cambridge Engineering Selector – CES EduPack in English. Determinants of the desirability of its use for first-year students were: the level of computer skills, interests of students in the issues of materials selection and knowledge of the English language, which supports the program. The survey consisted of 17 questions. The questionnaire was filled in by 81 students. The results confirmed the positive opinion of the respondents about the advisability of using a computer program for education purposes. Moreover, half of the respondents believe that during laboratory classes various forms of knowledge transfer should be combined. Students in a large majority show interest in the choice of materials for the products of everyday use. In contrast, they are afraid of or do not have an opinion on using software in English.

Celem pracy było sprawdzenie motywacji i predyspozycji studentów Wydziału Inżynierii Produkcji Uniwersytetu Przyrodniczego w Lublinie do uczestniczenia w zajęciach laboratoryjnych z przedmiotu Nauka o Materiałach wspomaganych programem komputerowym Cambridge Engineering Selector – CES EduPack w języku angielskim.

The evaluation with the use of neuroscience methods and tools of a student’s satisfaction – happiness from using the e-learning system (e-learning platforms, e-games, simulators) poses an important re-search subject matter. In the present project it is presented a research on course conducted in the Faculty of Merchants Officers, Marine Academy of Aspropyrgos. In particular, this research with the use of a neurosci-ence tool-gaze trucker, investigates the amount of satisfaction of the students using a simulator by monitoring the users’ eye movement in combination with the use of qualitative and quantitative methods.

The rapid developments in technology make it costly to educate the work force for the sectors. In modern technology and in today’s world in which the education system is more modern and the need for modern stuff is increasingly high, Computer-Based Education (CBE) techniques and software are no more a luxury but a necessity. Because these softwares become the basic component and means of easy and comprehensible manner of telling in modern education system due to the visuality that they concern. This study presents the examples of material to make the content and the subject of electromechanics more effective and comprehensible.

In this study, it has been examined whether computer-based teaching software is applicable in today’s electronic and computer teaching. By the improvement of today’s computer teaching, people are able to reach information easily. Both indoor and outdoor of classroom works, teaching software, which supports learning, has been aimed to help both teachers and students. The educational software prepared in this study that can be used in the area of controls with parallel and serial computer ports. In this study, basic properties of parallel-serial ports, to use them in mechatronics and their using facilities have been explained. How to program these ports together with their connections have been embedded into the educational teaching software. Thus, according to its algorithm and frame, this educational software interface developed can be used for general mechatronics training.
