In the previous year, the 7th Garden Festival in Bolestraszyce was already held. It is an annual event that brings together Polish garden enthusiasts and creators, teachers and young landscape architecture adepts, and even primary school representatives. Festivals have been organized since 2011 by the Arboretum and the Department of Physiography in Bolestraszyce, near Przemyśl. It has been initiated thanks to the funding from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The festival is surrounded by the substantive care of the Landscape Architecture Association, the Association of Polish Landscape Architects, the Polish Nurserymen Association and the Polish Dendrological Society. Show gardens are an unusual variety of gardens – they serve to present the latest trends in the art of space arrangement and present, popularize new plant varieties. In recent years, they have also gained a wider educational function, often referring to environmental problems or various socio-cultural issues.

W artykule przedstawiono zagadnienia dotyczące projektowania ogrodów edukacyjnych na przykładzie szkoły podstawowej i przedszkola. Myślą przewodnią koncepcji zagospodarowania ogrodu sensoryczno-edukacyjnego było stworzenie miejsca przyjaznego dzieciom i dostosowanego do potrzeb różnych grup wiekowych. Zaprojektowane założenie tworzy jedną całość kompozycyjną, mimo że obejmuje teren dwóch placówek. Ich powiązanie wynika z bliskiego sąsiedztwa obiektów oraz zbliżonych form edukacyjnych, ponieważ uczęszczają do nich dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym i wczesnoszkolnym. W aranżowanej przestrzeni zaproponowano wyspy połączone mostami, pomiędzy którymi przepływają rzeki. W wydzielonych zielenią wnętrzach zaplanowano różnorodne urządzenia, które pozwalają realizować tematykę sensoryczną i edukacyjną. Uwzględniono wiele czynników kształtujących dziecięcą świadomość ekologiczną oraz zabawy wspomagające rozwój dzieci. Na ich potrzeby opracowano urozmaicony program użytkowy. Realizacja zaprezentowanej koncepcji ożywi przestrzeń ogrodową wokół placówek i pozwoli na zwiększenie atrakcyjności oferty dydaktycznej. Otoczenie przyrodnicze i elementy jego zagospodarowania będą wszechstronnie stymulować rozwój dzieci uczęszczających do przedszkola i szkoły.

The paper presents issues of the design of educational gardens on the example of primary and nursery schools. The leading idea of the concept of sensory and educational garden development was based on the creation of child-friendly place and tailored to the needs of groups at different age. Designed area creates a unit of composition, although includes two objects. Their relationship is apparent from the close proximity of buildings and similar forms of education, because of their children attend to preschool and primary school. In the arranged space islands connected by bridges, between which the rivers flow, were proposed. The green interiors with a variety of devices were planned. They allow to carry out sensory and educational themes. Elements influencing children's environmental awareness and fun for the development of children were taken into account. The user program for their needs was developed. Implementation of the presented concept of garden enliven the space around the objects and the attractiveness of teaching will increase. The natural environment and elements of its development will comprehensively stimulate the growth of children attend to preschool and primary school.

Kompleks Dydaktyczny zaprojektowano na potrzeby Katedry i kształcących się tam studentów. W ramach założenia planuje się prezentację wybranych stylów ogrodowych oraz charakterystycznych ogrodów. Do realizacji wybrano ogrody: średniowieczny, renesansowy i barokowy, z ogrodów tematycznych: biblijny, japoński, wiejski oraz alpinarium i różankę. W poszczególnych ogrodach uwzględniono tylko niektóre, charakterystyczne dla danej epoki, czy rodzaju ogrodu, zasady kompozycji i typowe dla nich elementy kompozycyjne, różne aranżacje roślinne (klomb z roślinami o ozdobnych kwiatostanach, nadających się do zasuszenia, rabata z roślin o różnym pokroju i rabata "koło barw" i trójkątna rabata z różnymi gatunkami paproci) oraz małą architekturę ogrodową (altanę porośniętą różnymi pnączami). W doborze gatunków kierowano się ich historycznym zastosowaniem w poszczególnych epokach i stylach oraz ogrodach specjalistycznych. Układ komunikacyjny zaprojektowano w taki sposób, by kolejno można było zobaczyć wszystkie elementy ogrodu w porządku chronologicznym - od założeń średniowiecznych po nowoczesne, co pozwoli studentom prześledzić zmiany kompozycyjne zachodzące w następujących po sobie epokach.

It is planned to present selected styles of gardens and characteristic garden examples. Following types were selected: medieval, Renaissance, and baroque, as well as biblical, Japanese, rustic, rockery, and rosary as thematic gardens. Only composition rules along with typical elements that are characteristic for a given epoch or garden type were taken into account in particular gardens. Path network enables to visit the garden in chronological sequence: from medieval assumptions through modern ones, which allows students for recording the composition changes in subsequent epochs.
