Market globalization and technical development are the reason for constant need of complementing the knowledge of metallurgy workers. E-learning is a modern method of distance learning and may also be an interesting method of recurrent education. In comparison to traditional education it is far more flexible concerning: place and time of learning, speed, and scope of material to learn etc. Moreover, the student is responsible for the effect of learning. E-learning in metallurgic industry can be used both for obligatory courses (e.g. occupational safety and health) and additional ones, which are important from organization's point of view (e.g. management system improvement, internal communication, time management etc.) This article presents possibilities of using e-learning in education of metallurgic industry workers.
