Content available Sustainable supply chains modeling
EN
Background: Although existing studies have highlighted the importance of modeling sustainable supply chains, there is a scarcity of research that integrates environmental, social, and economic dimensions simultaneously. Accordingly, this paper aims to explore the possibilities of creating and modeling sustainable supply chains in the trefoil of economic, environmental, and social sustainability. Methods: For creating and modeling optimal sustainable supply chains, we used the mathematical method of dynamic programming. The method of dynamic programming was chosen for the reason that dynamic programming represents a set of special mathematical methods that serve to optimize multi-stage or multi-phase processes. Results: Minimum costs of the supply chain in the given example are achieved when the problem is solved from an economic perspective or from the perspective of total costs. Solving the problem from an ecological or social perspective increases the costs of the supply chain compared to optimal solutions, by 16.05% if the problem is solved from an ecological perspective and by 14.31% if the problem is solved from a social perspective. Conclusions: Contemporary sustainable supply chains are forced to include in their logistics network only those participants who can satisfy the principles of integral sustainability, i.e. respecting the economic, ecological and social dimensions.

The main objective of this research project is to create new model in the field of corporate financial literacy, with a special emphasis on the Hungarian SME sector. In our study we explore the interpretations and dimensions of corporate finance. Beyond the theoretical analysis, the study aims to justify the level and direction of the relationship between corporate financial literacy and corporate financial results, the efficiency of operations, the outcome of corporate financial decisions. It has been taken a 511-element representative sample from the Hungarian SME sector and built a linear regression model to find a significant moderation effect of financial literacy between financial performance and results. The method used in this study is a literature review analysis of manuscripts discussing topics related to financial literacy, corporate sustainability, published in the last 10 years. Our results show that there are positive and significant relationships between company management and corporate financial literacy. It has been also established in our analysis that the level of corporate financial literacy influences financial results and the effectiveness of operations in companies. This paper draws the attention of business leaders to the importance of financial awareness to help stakeholders and companies to provide better solutions to the existing environmental and economic challenges. The study offers useful policy input for corporate and economic policy decision-makers, which could also help improve the competitiveness of national economies.

Content available Transport – an Instrument for Globalization
EN
Transport is generally an instrument for globalization. It is not possible to use transport as an instrument for de-globalization. For compensating the negative effects of globalization on regional and local markets, a world-wide sustainable development process is to be started. This is an idea propagated by United Nations since the publishing of the Brundtland-Report. Sustainability has three components: the social, the ecological and the economic sustainability. Economic sustainability is realized when the (transport) enterprises make no profits and setting the prices is following a price-wage-rule. This rule postulates that the price and wage have to be equal. However, transport can also set incentives for social and ecological sustainability. Transport is no instrument for de-globalization, but an important instrument for compensating the negative effects of globalization. The measures which transport policy has to realize sustainability are not new, but we need to a new world-wide concept for transport policy. We have to accept, that the world is one economic area and not more than two hundred areas. We need only one set of economic rules and not over hundred different sets of rules.

Digital payment system (DPS) is witnessing growth day by day, especially, in Asian and European countries. E-banking, electronic payment, cashless or less cash economy, digital economy, Digital payment system are all synonymously used to represent new technology in use. Many researchers have discussed about DPS practices leading to economic and sustainable development, its significance and challenges, factors for intention to use and adoption etc. This paper discusses implementation process of a 100% cashless township, created in India. With digitalization, one cannot rule out the ambiguity with issues like cyber security, digital identity and related policies, and hence we see people conveniently using both, cash and card system. But in India, once being tagged as fully digital village is switching back to the old all cash mode. So the much promising digital village initiatives have fallen flat. Hence this paper presents a case of a government company, which has fostered a responsible action in subordinating governments’ ‘Digital India program’. In 2016, GNFC has created first 100% Cashless Township in Gujarat, India, consisting of 5000 permanent residents and 10,000 floating population and still continue to transact in digital-only form. This sustainable model has been replicated to more than 100 townships across the country and is adoptable to rural areas to enable successful ‘Digital Villages‘. We also discuss the sustainable impact generated to the stakeholders in the township. We use primary data and secondary data to collect required information and use Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model to identify user adoption and acceptance factors in GNFC s digital-only mode of payment system.
