Przedmiotem rozważań podjętych w artykule są aspekty efektywności ekologicznej systemów transportowych Unii Europejskiej. Uwagę skupiono na omówieniu czynników kształtujących efektywność ekologiczną transportu w kontekście wybranych kosztów zewnętrznych.

The subject of the considerations made in the paper are aspects of environmental performance of transport systems of the European Union. The attention is focused on discussion of the factors influencing the environmental performance of transport in the context external costs. In the first part of the consideration, in terms of theoretical, discusses the concept of efficiency ecoefficiency and presents important factors affecting the efficiency of this in transport. On the other hand, an analysis of statistical data on selected external costs of transport, indicating their importance to issues concerning environmental performance of transport systems.
